hi

the wait is over 6 years, he has to check every month the visa bulletin

does your mom speak and understand any English? if not then no, she will have to study 100 questions for civics and history, review the N400, write a question and answer to the question and answer any questions in English the officer may ask

Citizenship:

for personal experience, my father did the citizenship exam and interview in Spanish ( I interpreted for him). He was allow because he is over 50 and have been a legal permanent resident for over 20 ( 50/20 rule). He still had to learn the 100 civix and history questions.

My mother, non English speaker had to give in English after 5 year of being a LPR.

Hi Ashaa,

Thank you for your reply, So my mom is going to be 60 but shes been living here for only 4 and half years. Did your mother learned English or how did it work?

Other question, I wonder if my brother's case will be quicker after she become citizen or not?

Thanks

You are welcome!

My mother learned the 100 questions in English, it took some time but we practice for about 4 months.

She was 55 at the time but only resident for 5 years at the time.

If your mother is the petitioner for your brother, I believe it will be faster.

How about when she went to the interview and the interviewer asked any question besides that or asked how is your mother doing, I mean a little casual conversation. Did she write one question and read one as well. i did not mean to bother you, I will really appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance,

It is not okay. I know I had many questions before she went to take test.

There waa casual conversation before, "good morning, how are you today?"

I just asked my mother about the questions, she studied the questions in English and Spanish too. They can ask up to 10 questions but after 6 correct ones, you passed.

My mother told me she was asked to write an answer to one of the questions, she just did not remember which one.

This website has he questions in various Languages.

It will be good. I know many people who speak no English and they do pass, after studying and practice of the question.
