"To RapidVisa User: *********

We need information from you to complete your petition. Until we receive this information your petition will be on hold here in our office.

Please provide the following information as soon as possible:

1.We need a photocopy of the passport bio page (picture page) from the alien, plus a copy of all pages showing entry and/or exit stamps from the country where she physically met with the sponsor. Color copies work best. Do not send us your actual passport! You can mail these copies to the address below or scan and upload to your Drop Box

2. You must provide more evidence that you and your fianc have personally met within two years of the date this petition was filed. The evidence you have already provided is not adequate. While there is no official list of items that will be accepted as proof of meeting, the following is a list of items that are generally accepted by the USCIS. Do not send originals. Make photocopies of your evidence. Passport Stamps: This is critical proof that you traveled to your fiance's country or that your fiance came here. You may have difficulty if you don't include this evidence when it exists. Make sure the date is legible on the stamps. You must also include a copy of the passport data page (the one with your name and picture). Color copies are best if possible. Airplane and/or Train Boarding Passes: This shows that you actually got on the airplane. Good evidence when used in conjunction with copies of the plane ticket. Note that plane tickets alone only prove that you bought a ticket and not that you actually made the trip.

Any staff member can help you. Asking for a specific agent is discouraged because that employee could be out sick, on vacation or just incredibly busy. Please help us expedite your case by working with the first available employee.

Thank You"

My questions are

1. I read somewhere that there are other types of proof you can submit and not what is mentioned. Another I know of consists of written affidavits, or statements from witnesses stating that the 2 people met.

2. I submitted 9 photos of us together, and 1 by herself wearing her engagement ring. Specifically in a photo it has a statue with the inscription "Welcome to Canada's Parliament". I also submitted her itinerary for her flight, and proof of Insurance coverage using the address she would stay at during our meeting. There's a photo of us together by the car my Dad and I rented, I submitted the receipt from Enterprise which also has the License plate number shown in the photo of my fiancée and I. I submitted credit card receipts and statements placing me at a few addresses in Canada at the time. How are these in terms of proof?

3. RapidVisa is nice, and they did answer numerous amounts of questions but one thing I have encountered are some differences of inputs. One person told me the photos have to be 4 by 6, another Orson said they don't have to be. One person said I needed passport stamps, another said I didn't. Has anyone else dealt with this?

4. RapidVisa also on a few occasions didn't tell me or ask for something prior and waited at the last minute to ask me for it. Is this normal?

5. Am I better off sticking with them, asking for a refund and proceeding on my own, or another way?

Thanks for your time.

Ask for a refund you are better of doing things yourself. If you follow the guidelines ob the step by step visa journey than you can do this process yourself. Rapid visa is a waste of money.

Not sure why this needed to be moved from the K-1 forum, since the OP is actually asking about the K-1 process and what is needed to prove they met in person within the last 2 years for the I-129F.

Anyway...

If you are able to carefully read and follow form instructions in order to fill out the forms and provide the required supporting documentation, then you do not need to pay someone else to fill out forms for you.

Passport stamps are best for proving you have met in person, so I would ignore the person that said they were not needed and definitely provide them. Other things you can use are mentioned in the guide here, and in numerous posts throughout VJ. All it takes it a search to find them. Boarding passes, hotel and ATM receipts, bank and credit card statements along with some photos of you together, especially with friends and family and/or in front of landmarks work best to go along with the passport stamps and other evidence of meeting.

You can include affidavits from people, but they are very weak evidence and not the best choice. The evidence you listed, along with the bio pages and passport stamp pages seem to be ok. Also, the copies of the bio pages and stamp pages can be blank and white or color copies. It makes no difference. They just need to be clear and legible.

There is no specific photo size requirement, other than the passport photo sizes. Photos uses as supporting evidence for proof of meeting can even be printed off on plain computer paper, and do not need to be actual photos on photo paper. If using actual photos, write who is in the photo, date taken, and where it was taken on the back. If you print them out on plain paper, caption them with that info.

They are kind of secondary level proof, but would be expected if one of you is American and the other Canadian as there are not usually passport stamps given. Boarding passes are always preferable to itineraries. However, your country flag says Haiti. Is one of you Haitian?

A couple of off-the-topic posts have been removed. Anyone who has questions about a Moderation decision should hit the Report button, not argue in-thread.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Very valuable and appreciated. We have everything, except anything on my end with the stamps since my Dad and I drove to Canada. This was why I have the 2 receipts from Enterprise Rent A Car. It listed the information about the car, the dates we had it, and the license plate number. We have a photo, my fiancee and I by the car with the license plate number exposed, matching the plate number on the receipt with the date of usage. We also had a photo together along with my Dad in front of a statue with the inscription "Welcome to Canada's Parliament". But she came over from Haiti, so they stamped her passport for sure. She also has the boarding passes. I sent the insurance she purchased for the trip and time she would stay in Canada, and her Itinerary. Thanks again.

Yes, my fiancee is Haitian.

The photo in front of parliament isn't really proof that you've met in the last two years as the photo could be taken any time, however everything else is fine.

Can't really predict what USCIS will do, but in my opinion you've satisfied the burden of proof of meeting in the last two years.

I think the issue with RapidVisa in your case is that it is a company that is largely geared towards Filipinos. There isn't a problem with that, but their familiarity with the complexities of proving things like having met in Canada is limited.
