OMG I almost had a panic attack this morning. Just woke up and checked my phone. Saw an "Ask NVC" e-mail. Was kinda excited but then I saw the rest of the subject title "CKLST"...

I opened it frantically and scanned it (not properly like I should have) while freaking out. I did however, remember that JFH also got one after CC and she could take the extra documents to the interview. After PROPERLY reading it, they are still scheduling my interview and I can do this too. Not sure whether to call NVC just to double check, although it says that I don't need to. It was regarding something my father in law forgot to put in his i-864a. I'm sure he sent it, but I'll have to talk to my Hubby about that later.

Phew...oh my goodness...Hopefully this means that I'll get my interview date soon. NVC did tell me to expect a CC e-mail and then the second e-mail would be the interview??? :s.

Well i called this morning ask about my scan date they did not tell me any thing

I'd call to find out what your scan date is, which seems to be very important. It's 6 weeks from that date that you can request your application go to supervisor review if they haven't finished it. I have only heard of one case that escalated to supervisor review prior to the 6 week mark.

Good Luck!

I will do that thxx.

Keep trying! :goofy: I have called NVC probably a dozen times since my case was transferred from USCIS and I feel like some of the agents are more experienced or more helpful or have access to more information then others. Keep a list of your questions and when you get a good one on the phone ask everything; if it's not such a good one don't bother.

Once you have your scan date, then the forums on here are a wonderful place to check in to find out which dates the NVC is closing, possible issues you might encounter and the solutions. And you can take a few week reprieve from obsessing on calling the NVC. I suggest to start calling again by week 5 until you get your CC.

  IV invoice received and paid today!!! One more step behind.

Congrats!

The US Embassy in Egypt recommends getting your exam two weeks prior to interview. Right now their next interview date is November 13th. I have read it takes a week for the system to update our CC and send our information on to the embassy and schedule our interview. I was thinking if he gets his exam as soon as possible next week when everything updates I would notify the embassy that we were ready and could take a sooner date.

The USCIS has a listing of authorized doctors for each area.

I fear this process will slow down during the holidays and want to prod it along as much as possible!

Thanks

You mentioned right now the next available interview for Egypt is November 13th. Is this interview for Immigrant visas? Also can you share where you found this information and I can attempt to see if I can find out for Nairobi? Thank you.

So long story short our US consulate accepted our case for expedite, I took a chance and requested. No we do t have medical emergency or any of the normal reasoning, but USCIS did lose our file for 9 weeks - so I took a chance not on JUMPING the queue but on hoping to recover some of the 9 weeks we lost.

Unfortunately I have no idea if that means the consulate will go quicker or slower than NVC but have my fingers crossed that my boys will be back with their daddy soon and I will have my husband with me again.

The reason for this post is that my timeline will now be completely different to anyone following the normal route so to my wonderful vj friends do you want me to update or will confuse and alter the averages etc?

May 5 - I-130 Received

June 17 - RFE Received

August 4 - NOA2
October 3 - USICIS sent to NVC
October 12 - NVC received (69 days in limbo)

? - call NVC to review DS-261 and get IV invoice unlocked
? - IV bill paid
? - submit DS-260
? - send IV/AOS package

That's great that they have accepted it for expedite. I had considered requesting that since we spent 164 days waiting for the I-130 to be approved (no RFEs) but I was nervous that if it was rejected then it could cause more harm than good. Pleased to see you have had a positive experience with it.

London expedites are messy. There is a VJer who requested an expedite through the London embassy and had to wait over a month for an appointment. I think his appointment ended up being 2 weeks before mine and I took the scenic route.

Would be interesting to compare how much faster it goes?

Unfortunately our consulate average is 62 days after nvc cc so even if it takes 30 we gained 30!

Yes it's hard to know what they will accept for expedite but from what I could determine because our approval was August 4 but USCIS sent docs to nrc instead of nvc it took until October 12 for nvc to receive. All advice said that as it was an error from USCIS that was documented I should try so I did.

I probably won't update timeline as it will mess with all new comers but I might keep everyone on here updated?

Filled in IV application DS-260 today, will be sending in "the package"... it said to wait a further 2-4 weeks to be processed after they received the package, is this what everyone is talking about that is taking so long and being put under superviser review or is it just the whole process taking so long? Am confused now how long it will take to get CC...

Hope i explained that ok.

Yes, this is what everyone is complaining about. Instead of 2-4 weeks after scan date, many have been waiting more than 6 weeks.
