Why are they telling you guys to call after/at midnight when they close at midnight??? :ranting:

I believe they are saying we need to complete the 6 weeks before we call to find out the status. This technically is after midnight on November 8th so basically we need to call November 9th. It would be easier if they just said that as we know the telephone line is closed at midnight Eastern Time Zone. This is a script they use to get rid of us lol.

I will call on November 9th when they are open and I'm positive they probably will still have not reviewed the file and will transfer to supervisor for review. This seems to be case where nothing is touched for the first 6 weeks as it appears they are backlogged.

I just called NVC and was told that the file has not yet been reviewed. I requested a reroute for supervisor review and agent agreed since I'm already at 6 weeks. Hope to get CC this week and no further delays.

Hi Everyone ~ Scan Date September 19th; Supervisor Review November 1st.

Thank you for those who responded to my last post; I haven't figured out how to respond to a thread.

I called this morning and our case is still in review.

A few questions:

1. I'd like to speak to the supervisor who is reviewing our case, has anyone been able to do this?

2. I read on a post that the applications are reviewed in teams. Is anyone else waiting on the team working Egypt? I'm trying to figure out if I should be concerned that others have had their CC with the same SD or if it's the region.

3. I spoke to a couple of lawyers when we decided to apply for USC and at the time didn't think they could offer much for the fee they charge. We started our process in June 2016, so overall think we are moving along efficiently. Now that our application has stalled I am contemplating bringing in a lawyer. Is anyone using a lawyer and feel that it has helped or know what one could add at this time to move our case along?

4. Once we have our CC, how do we find out about our interview date? I checked the spreadsheet and I didn't see any recent Egypt interviews to gauge how far out their interviews are being scheduled. Do I call NVC for this? I don't like calling them all the time, it wastes everyone's time.

5. My husband has been asking for my AOS, my husband believes I can email him a copy of the AOS. This seems odd to me...does anyone know about this? I called NVC and they said to wait until the CC before sending in case they require changes. I don't trust the mail service in Egypt so if he needs the original I will bring it to him which means a lot of cost and switching schedules around at the last minute I fear.

It would really be great if NVC caught up with technology and posted more timely information. Living in Seattle, and knowing so many techies, it's frustrating to know this process could be much more streamlined and not require my daily phone calls to NVC. :clock:

Congrats to everyone as they have been completed their next step...and for those of us waiting in between...I'm praying for us all.

Hi my 2 cents to your questions:)

1 and 2)I have never been able to get hold of a supervisor. I read from various posts that it's not possible to get hold of a supervisor. I also I'm unaware of the teams that review the files by regions and would be interesting to know the team handling Uganda (or Nairobi as this is the consulate that processes the immigrant visa).

3) I don't think a lawyer can help expedite your process but I suggest maybe reach out to your Congressman/Senator as this is free of charge. Since your scan date is Sept 19th hopefully you get a CC this week.

4) NVC schedules the interviews. Some consulates processes for a few countries and could take upto 3 months from CC for an appointment. You find out about the interview date about 1 month and this is an example for Nairobi embassy and I suspect Egypt may also be handling multiple countries. Hopefully someone in the forum can provide an opinion.

5) NVC will mail the AOS to the consulate during the interview along with all the documents you mail to them. If your husband is seeking the documents to prep for the interview then no harm. You could send him the supporting documents when you have CC as this will be final.

Lastly to reply to posts you need to click on Quote.

Good luck in getting your CC and to all the folks waiting. Thanks for the prayers and I'm praying for all as well.

Thank you! We already had to fill out a similar application for my husband's B1/B2 visa (which he was denied), so I'm hoping it's roughly the same as that :)

Congrats this is really great news:) thanks for sharing. So your scan date was Sept 19 and you called Nov 1st where you file was transferred for supervisor review that means it took 4 business days to get CC after Supervisor review. Quick question before today did you call NVC after November 1st?
