Look at my timeline. You should get the email this evening. You usually get the email 2 days after its issued. I got the email around 5pm.

Thx you. That's what I was thinking and hoping but just wanted to double check in case I missed a step!

Hi Everyone! We are still waiting for our interview date, we got case complete about a week ago. I got a checklist that is just asking for my 2015 W2. I was working in Namibia last year and therefore have no W2.

Any suggestions of what to bring since I don't have a W2?

Thanks in advance!

If you were not working for a US employer, then you will not have a W2. A W2 is used to prove your income for a year. You will need to be prepared to give the officer something that proves your income for 2015. Do you have some form from Namibia that shows your income? Could you get your employer to issue a letter that shows your 2015 income? Did you provide a 2015 US Tax Transcript?

Best of luck!

Sukie in NY

You should have kept another copy for yourself. This is just in case they will ask it during interview. If you didnt then might as well fill up another one to bring or send to the beneficiary.

This is my second time filing, two year ago it was 60 days or more. I think 6 weeks is fast but waiting is the problem. Remember patience is a virtue.

Hi Sukie,

Thanks for the response! In Namibia, casual workers are allowed, therefore I just received cash and it was an internship. I could ask my previous employer for a letter but I am worried it will take awhile as everything in Namibia requires a long wait. A letter is always an option though!

I only submitted my Turbo tax forms from the past three years and my Mother is my co-sponsor. Her documents are complete, it is just my 2015 W2 that we need to bring to the interview. I've been reading on the forums here and it seems like I can forgo the letter and just request a tax transcript? Is this true?

Didn't yet get my SSN. Went to SSN office and they told me to wait till 21 business days i.e. till 15th November and then to come back if I don't get my SSN. They can't issue a duplicate because it can come by then and even told me to put a sticker of my name in the mail box.

But now most job interviews need SSN feel so lost. This waiting game with no confirmation in the whole process is killing me ??? Did anyone face this situation?

Four days after my husband arrived we went to the social sercurity office to check on things. What the guy told me is that my husband has to fill out an application. I told him when we fill out the visa application we check the box to have it mailed automatically. He said that only happen about 10% of the time so he should fill out an application. We got the social 4 business days later. :goofy:

When was your POE?
