13 days! :) Do you plan to fly right away as soon as you receive your visa?

Pretty much.

I'm hoping to leave on December 19 (13 days after interview, assuming I am approved). Looking at the London data, passport is usually back 6 - 8 days after interview.

I have a job there starting on December 27!

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

You'll be approved! ?

That's great news! I need to find a job right away too but seems like I won't be able to get one until I get my SSN. Will be flying next week and I just hope will receive my SSN within the next couple of weeks.

Wife's POE is JFK. Any tips ?

Thank you

Mine is SEA-TAC and I'm kinda worried with my 2.5 hrs layover.

Hi All,

Something that's been bothering me lately...

When it says to take "Original Documents" to the interview, for CR1, does that include all of your petitioners financial documents that you send scans of to NVC (transcripts, tax returns)???

Feeling a little confused and don't want to get this wrong...!

The original documents required are those of the beneficiary and the marriage certificate. Have you gotten your interview letter? It won't ask for any of the petitioner's documents at all. It is very clear, item by item what is needed

I live in Seattle and have flown through SEA-TAC many times. It's a nice airport with lots of shops, restaurants and sitting areas with nice windows overlooking the area. Hopefully its a clear day and you can see the mountains. Most likely once you get through immigration and locate your boarding gate you'll be just about ready to board. :) Safe Travels!!

The kiosk won't work she'll need to go directly to the counter with CBP agents. It's very straightforward. I didn't get taken to any secondary check. Only got asked who petitioned me. Nothing out of the ordinary. She'll be fine.

Damn, I just checked the weather forecast and it said that it's gonna be cloudy that day!

I just really hope that with Emirates I don't have to take my bags and check them back in for my next flight as we booked from their website directly and expecting that we don't have to do this thing.

Thank you and best of luck with the interview! :)

Well how is your flight schedule? meaning where is your layover? it should be dubai, unless you have one in America and if that is the case then in dubai, you will not have to check in your bags, with america i am not sure but I do know that often at dc airport, I have seen everyone exiting plane and going through baggage claim before catching their final flights. I guess they go through the immigration there.

They will start scheduling next week. I am waiting for my mother-in-laws interview before me and my hubby travel out. most likely she will get it for jan, that means you will get yours for Jan too. They give a month before the interview. it is done on first come first serve basis.

Trouble is that many of those going through London are either K-1 (never understood why that is so popular with Brits but that's another story...) or DCF. And neither of those groups goes through the NVC so they all have to take their original financial stuff with them to the embassy. It's hard to find an embassy review for London for a non-DCF CR-1 because there are so few of us.

So it gets confusing reading the reviews. And even the interview letter is written as if you are doing DCF too.

I will have 2, DXB and SEA-TAC. The thing is when my husband took this flight, he got his bags in Anchorage. When I called the Emirates office they said I need to check my bags again. I just hope the agent is wrong. :D

When you land on American space you will go through customs at that point. If you have a layover you will have to get your bags and recheck them.

My wife and daughter have their consulate interview on Monday. I am hopeful , nervous , and excited . We have gone over all the paperwork a dozen times ,she should be fine. I'm positive she has anything they could possibly require . :dancing:
