So I have another question, more like a concern really.

My husband was approved, however my sister-in-law and her husband (who are both citizens) are concerned of her uncle finding out (who is a citizen and works for government) and creating a problem for my husband and that may in turn deny his visa or something similar. She insisted on us not telling anyone about his visa because of that reason.

Now my understanding is that no one can really influence his visa unless they are directly involved. my hubby's uncle didn't sponsor him so how can he or his words influence his visa processing after it was approved? is there such cases out there? I don't think USCIS or Consulates or NVC are hardly convinced by any government official unless they work there. From my understanding the senator or congressmen can move a case a little but can't really influence it, right?

Someone please help me with this because this thought has me worried.

thanks in advance

As long as your husband is not a threat to the State I don't think anyone who will accused him of anything can actually influenced the visa issuance. If your husband is coming in good faith you have nothing to worry about so relax.

May I asked if they have actually requested any financial documents from your husband during the interview I remember you said your brother was newly hired at the time of you NVC submission.

Thank you for clarification. My husband is clean, even in Pakistan. I know that without proper investigation they will not do anything however this is US we are talking about especially with minorities like me, it is a huge problem but I have contacts with senators and congressmen.

No they didn't ask any documents from me. The only reason they would have if his financial situation changed or we updated his tax returns or if they lost the documents but apparently they didn't loose anything. I even got my birth certificate copies back that I did to prove my brother's and my relationship.

As long as you explained in a letter why your current income was different from last year and you showed pay stubs and tax transcripts, you should be okay.

Hello...I come bearing good news...My husband was approved yesterday! They didn't even ask him too many questions, they mostly asked both of us together. She saw me with him and boom, it was approved. although they already made the decision but still.

We had to wait a lot though due to long lines.

anyways on to moving forward and migrating. I am amazed my case took 8 months as opposed to 1 year that I had thought of.

Now I have a question about my mother-in-law. Her case was sponsored by her daughter. they started the case last year in March however didn't get to turn in the documents until this year. They had a RFE sometime in September. I will be calling to see the progress however I wanted to know that for mother's visa, is there anything different we should know?

Congratulations. Really its the same process. When you say "mother-in-law sponsored by your daughter" what do you mean? How can your daughter petition your husbands mother? Clarify please.

Who's the petitioner?

Congrats rooji! Though there's only 2 of us for CR1, I waited for more than an hour coz they have some technical issues.

Interview was last October 26 and now I just received an email saying it's issued and I can go pick-up tomorrow from a 1-3 PM.
