Hi. I'm Ayu from Indonesia, my husband is American. We still haven't received any email about the case, but my husband called NVC last few days ago and the officer told him that the case was completed since November 3, 2016 and they will send us email regarding the interview date once the slot was open. And since we still haven't received any email until today, and the status on NVC website is still the same, my husband called the NVC again today to ask about the interview date, the officer told him my interview date will be on December 29, 2016. We didn't expect that, we thought I could get the interview in the end of this month since the case was completed since the beginning of the November. This process has been very hard for us and we haven't met each other since May, I'm wondering the chances of my visa being approved considering now Trump is the president and he hates Muslims and immigrants :cry2::cry2::cry2:

And since it is not guaranteed that I will get the visa even though my case was completed, I'm so worried that I might not get the visa and we have to wait longer to be able to live together. I wonder if you guys know anyone who's been through the same process and being denied.

Thank you all.

I wish I could say there is no way you get denied but sadly that is not the case. We are in the same boat when it comes to interview date and last time we've been together was December. We can only pray to get approval but be prepared if it wasn't the case. I hope things will go well for you. God will surely grant the desires of your heart if not He sure know the best for you. God bless!

He's not the president. He won't be until January 20. Your visa will be issued and you will probably have entered the country (and therefore become an automatic legal permanent resident) before this happens.

No visa is guaranteed, of course. But there is no more reason for you to be denied now than last week. Nothing has changed.

The interviews are scheduled for the following month or later. So in November they schedule for December. In December they will be scheduling for January. They need enough time to get the files to the overseas embassies, for applicants to make travel arrangements (some people have to travel to other countries for the interview if they live in a small country with no visa department at the local embassy), and for the COs at the embassy to read through the files and do research on the applicant before they arrive for interview.

Thank you so much. I'm just so worried about the interview and this whole process is really depressing. Good luck on your interview!

Yeah :( So you get the date 2 days earlier than me. I hope you good luck. I'm just worried if I get denied, we have to start over this process for another year :ranting:

It just doesn't make sense that fiancee visa is easier and faster than spouse visa :cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2:

I hope we all get the visa soon!

You are thinking way to negatively. Take that out and throw it out the window.

1. Just because Trump is president doesn't mean that he will deNY or can deny you visa this early because as stated he will take the office in January so he cannot do anything before that month. Visa can be granted on the merit of your relationship and all depends on Co. Spouse visas are guaranteed regardless of even if they are late as long as the relationship is legal and true. If it is then do not worry about it. If possible, have your hubby come to the intwrview with you. It helps. I am a Muslim and we were given visa on the spot. They make a decision even before you enter the embassy. So hopefully they already have made the decision before you enter. Interview gives a better chance of presenting your story and then you can appeal if you are denied first time around. But you have to stay positive and confident and dress nicely when you enter. These officers are trained not to discriminate as stated on their sites.

2. You have a misunderstanding of spouse vs fiance. It was true some time ago but not anymore. Spouse visa means you are legally resident as soon as you enter us. Fiance is harder to convince and it takes time for them to become us resident. If you do everything right then spouse can be faster like mine was. My cousin applied for her fiance before me and she still hasn't gotten her interview. While my hubby is approved with visa in hand. So this is a myth. Fiance and spouse visas have only a month of difference now.

3. Pakistanis have harder time getting visas and on top of that it is one the country that is on red flag. Indonesia is better so I will not worry too much.

Just practice your interview. You have legal marriage and every right to be in the usa. Trump cannot make changes over night and it will take him at least half a year to make any changes at the moment. Stay positive and look forward to your interview with confidence. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the support. I can't have my husband with me on the day of the interview because he has blackout date until March 2017 and he lives in America. The last time we met was in May. Someone I know applied fiance visa this year and she already got the visa, me and my husband have been dealing with this for a year lol, so that's not fair. And yeah, I've been reading about the interview and NVC will send the documents and what I should bring on the day of the interview within a week. I will make sure I bring everything so I don't have to repeat this depressing process.

Okay if he can't come that is okay. Just make sure you have the needed docs and also be confident. Practice practice practice. I made my hubby practice a lot.

Like I said fiance visa and spouse visa has not much of a difference. My hubby got it in 7 months and for some it takes shorter time. Be patient. Like I said it all depends on if you file it properly and timely manner.

Don't worry everything will be okay.

Thank you for the information. I called and there is no interview date yet with my case.

I called today to confirm that ours was complete and was told our interview date was scheduled. I believe the timeline on the interview schedule is different for each embassy. You should receive a letter once the interview is scheduled along with any extra information they require from you. I recommend calling as often as you can to find out if your interview has been scheduled since there seems to be a delay between when their systems update and when we get notified. :)

Yesterday I noticed that it was changed from NVC to IN TRANSIT, is it too soon to track it through Dhl, if not how do I go about tracking my case?

Great news!

I tried to look for yours - is there an embassy in Antigua or do you have to go to another island for your interview?

hello everyone and congrats to all cc and interviews, I have a scan date of III packet on Oct 24, 2016 and the lawyer will be taking care of the fees. and a little confused with packet III and packet IV....we did complete the 261 and 864 with the lawyer so which scan date should be counting on? i have no way to track my case online and I called NVC last and got the scan date from them. I am counting 6 weeks after the 10/24/16 date will in roughly 3 weeks. and probably won't get an interview till January? am I right?
