Hi there,

I was conditionally approved for global entry but during interview I was told by the interviewing office I will put another secondary review.

Background- I entered USA on visits visa when I was 13/14 Years old in the year 1999. Our intention at the point was purely visit our family. However during that time my fathers friend recommend he apply for job here and settle down. He agreed and went through legal route, the company he applied for accepted his job application and they applied for his adjustment of status within our legal stay(6 months from entry date). My father and mother were both given Employment Authorization with INS Approval(before USCIS came in place) around the year 2004 all docs were approved and we received our green cards in same year 2004, at that point I was 17 years old, few years after that we applied for citizenship and it was granted for all of us.

When I went to for interview the first thing I was asked how I entered the United States to which I responded I came with my parents on Visitors visa and explained how I received my greencard to which she replied though your adjustment of status was pending you are considered out of status which makes you ineligible for Global Entry, but said she will have a senior officer review and continued on with her questions such as why I visited Qatar,Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Dubai to which I responded swiftly and she seemed satisfied but was saying Qatar is something then stopped, then asked about my last trip , if I had any upcoming travel plans and my employment status . My finger prints were taken along with the weird way of taking picture with a webcam.

She then asked why I am not applying for my family to which I responded they don't travel as often and are currently on a trip to India returning upcoming week and asked for their legal status.

The interview was concluded by her saying at the moment I am sending your file for secondary review with my supervisor (and pointed at wall behind her ) and taking off conditional approval.

What do think my chance of approval are provided this was more than 10 years ago, I was under the age of 18 throughout the time and I didn't have to sign any type of waiver before I was handed out my green card at the USCIS(formerly known as INS) building, and it was my impression since our file was under review we are given temporarily authorization to work/live in United States. If denied do I have a chance of appeal with the above facts?
