Report of Marriage done, when to apply for passport

Hi,

We submitted our ROM last week. Yesterday, a copy of each document we submitted came back to us via the USPS express mail envelope we included. There are no notes whatsoever that we are missing any documents only a receipt. My questions are the ff:

1) Is this normal procedure?

2) The documents that came back to us have a stamp of Oct. 27, 2016. When is the normal time to apply for a passport in my married name? Thank you!

Jan. 25, 2018 Submitted I-751 paperwork to remove GC conditions > Feb. '18 Received I-797 > Mar. '18 Received appointment for bio-metrics / biometrics done.

That does not sound normal. Ours took a month to process as have experienced the same timetable. I'd call and see what the issues are.

Biometrics April 16, 2014 Biometrics completed

EAD May 23, 2014 Employment Authorization Document approved and went to card production

TD May 23, 2014 Travel Document approved and went for card production

Receipt EAD/AP May 30, 2014 Received combo card EAD/AP

Green Card Approved July 11, 2014 Approved, no interview. Went to card production.

Green Card received July 17, 2014 GC received without interview

Removal of Conditions

Mailed I-751 Dec 16, 2015 Submitted ROC (removal of conditions)

Received Dec 18, 2015 USPS notification of successful delivery

Check Cashed Dec 21, 2015 Check was cashed

NOA-1 Issued Dec 21, 2015 NOA-1 for ROC issued

NOA-1 Issued Dec 26, 2015 NOA-1 Received

Biometrics Appt. Jan 29, 2016 Biometrics Appointment Scheduled [Completed]

That does not sound normal. Ours took a month to process as have experienced the same timetable. I'd call and see what the issues are.

We submitted the documents to the Philippine Consulate in NY in case other people did the same too. Thanks, GB! We'll reach out to them. :)

If the bottom "OFFICIAL section" of the form is completed (document #, dates and such) along with the consul stamp that should be it. Once ROM is recorded you should be able to apply for your passport renewal in your married name.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

Yup! At the bottom there is a ROM-NY-XXX-XXXX; Date; O.R. No.; Cost paid and stamp/signature of the consul. Thanks for the input! :) Edited by dynm
