Hey all

Just recieved emails from CRIS cancelling the scheduled interview however I havent received snail mail for an interview.

Tried to ph the misinformation line and here is most probably the most stupid question ever... how do I enter in my reciept number... ie the letters MSC(10digits). If I enter the 10 digits on there own i get you havent entered enough numbers and eventually it just thanks me for calling...

thanks in advance and if anyone else has had a cancellation notice before reciving one in the mail and what the outcome of that was would love to hear.

GO ANYHOW! There's a ton of posts of those who went & were approved. Those who didn't got an abandonment letter. GOGOGO! :)

i received 2 cancellations (via email only). we went to the second interview anyway and the cancellations were never mentioned. Many suggest going because you could be considered abandoned for not showing up. DO a search, there are several threads on this exact subject!

ok i see i read that wrong. you could do a few things. oh and you can bypass using the receipt # by saying you dont have it or know it. (speak to an operator). you could also try 672 (msc). i dont know if that works or not. lastly you can make an infopass.

hi ya

when your entering your msc number on the phone pad just press the number corresponding to the letter..then the following numbers of your receipt number..

the service automatically changes the digits into letters for you and repeats what you have entered ..is this correct press 1 ...

i think that is what you were asking..if not i apologise.

good luck

Looks like another Info-Pass appointment is in order.

Anytime someone gets one of those cancellation emails, I say go anyway, the USCIS email system sometimes send them in error. In your case you don't have an interview date, so I would find out if they had sent you a date, but it got lost somehow.

okies thanks for the replies.. I got a hold of the misinformation line, they were no help and could not tell me if an interview notice had been sent but that there had been something happening with my case within the last 90 days. I was told to ph back in 60 days if I had not heard anything.

Funnily enough I have never had a transfer notice and checking online as of yesterday showed that my case was still at missouri. I did efile a AR-11 last week that would move my DO from New Orleans to Atlanta (currently I am way outside processing dates for there so expected an interview to happen fairly quickly) but did not expect to hear anything this soon. Im thinking that maybe, Atlanta received the change of address and scheduled an appointment then realised they dont have my file yet... thats the only thing I can think of.

looks like it is infopass time...

Do infopass.

They never seem to get address correct, moving with anything in process at USCIS is very dangerous.

Example on another board I am a member of:

I can't believe this .. today Lin gets a letter in the mail which was forwarded from our old address. It is a denial Decision for his permanent residence application because he did not go to his interview in CA.

Order of events:

10/24 move

10/25 notice of interview for12/11

10/31 confirmation of change of address from USCIS

11/1 Notice of cancellation of interview

12/12 Decision on application for status as permanent resident - denied for failure to appear at interview on 12/11

Text says " If you fail to depart from the United States proceedings will be instituted to enforce your departure. You may renew your application for status as a permanent resident during such proceedings" .......

In order for him not to be sent back to China I have to file an appeal and pay another $385.00. How @#@#@@# annoying !!!!!!!!

Anyone have to deal with this ####### before? Should I expect this to happen again when we move next month? I am soooooooooo mad right now
