Hotel near London embassy

Got my interview in December 6 and havemanaged to get one of the National Express £5 fun fare tickets to London the day before. Someone posted a link to a hotel which was close to the embassy and I liked that the rooms were all decorated in a very British theme - Union Jack cushions and pictures of red buses on the walls and so on. Does anyone remember this? Or has anyone stayed in a hotel that matches this description?

Wow JFH your journey is nearly at the end!!

I don't know the hotel you refer to, I stayed near London Waterloo, rates are a lot cheaper, and the tube is easy to the embassy.

Just wanted to wish you luck, the hard part is over!!

JFH,

When I updated the embassy info page I found some hotels that weren't too expensive and were only 1 to 2 stops on the underground from the embassy. They links to the hotels are there and I did place them on the click 2 go map I made so you can see where they are at in reference to the embassy/knightsbridge.

Edit: There is also a premier inn near Waterloo station that was pretty cheap when Jon and I were looking for time in January when we are hoping to have his interview. I will get the link from him and post it as well!

I have stayed in some cheaper places near Paddington station as well. Would maybe depend on what station your bus drops you off.

I'm not sure what your budget is but the actual embassy is surrounded by essentially the priciest hotels in London. You are better off staying elsewhere. Paddington would be a "short" walk, and you could cut through Hyde Park. Waterloo would be a tube journey (or a long walk...I love to walk in London).

I found the hotel I was thinking of - Griffen House Hotel - but they are quoting £89.00 for a room for the night.

I have booked the Marriott on an airline staff rate for £90.00.
