Hi all, I have bad and good news:

the Good news: Ou petition was received on October 24th, 2016 and we have "technically" been approved from USCIS, NVC has issued and sent our hardcopy letter to our address (yaaay), our package is in Rio de Janeiro already and ready for the appointment.

the Bad news: We never received or got any update on our receipt number. We never got our approval (NOA2) from USCIS (Officially), even though it was obviously approved as NVC has even sent it to Brazil. In other words, the Consular officer at USCIS said that WE CANNOT SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT until we got our receipt number updated. (Agh!)

Has any Brazilian or even from other nationalities faced such problem?
