whatever you feel is suitable. There is no right or wrong answer just be honest.

Myself and my wife actually met in a bar, got chatting, when on a date and then after a few more dates started becoming more serious.

Know when I explain it to the Officer I tell him we met on vacation when I was in the States. He doesnt want my life story so I just keep it short and sweet.

When I was asked - I told him the date we met in person (and the city.) I didn't interpret it to mean how we first met on the net etc. - I interpreted it to mean how and when and where we met face to face. I guess any answer is OK - he can ask another question if not satisfied with your answer. Good Luck

Motu, yeah, that's how my husband interprets the question too. :)

Kezzie, your answer was similar to what I figured we'd say. Where did you meet? Online. When did you meet? Date we met online. ;) But I figure it's a point we should make agreement on before we go in in case we tell two different answers. O.o

Well what did you write when you got your K visa? They may have looked at that and see what you wrote there, so maybe they're just double checking if what you say in person and what you sent in back when correspond. But yes, I suppose I see the issue for you internet lovers. If I were in that situation I presume I would say that we met online...because that's the first contact.

And whatever you answer, you should keep it short and to the point, like Kezzie said. That's the advice the lawyers always seem to give.

My husband and I met briefly through a mutual friend and the next day I was in hospital on my death bed after being admitted by ambulance by one of his co-workers! Most of our meeting was done when he very sweetly came every day and visited me in the i.c.u. of the hospital. ..Goodness knows what the heck he seen in me though..I'll never figure that one out cos I loked totally craptastic with no makeup on or hair done so hows that for true love lol .

I'm sure the immigration people will love hearng our story when we go for our interview ha! :P if they seen the pics that were taken of me in i.c.u. they will know for sure that our relationship has goyt to be true :P

I'm wondering..

When the officer asks u "how did u meet?", are u guys expected to start from how u met, to how u got married?

Or is "we met on the net, when i was having problems with my pc" enough??

Answer the question as it is asked. How did you meet means exactly that -- how did you meet. Not how did you meet and then what happened and when did he propose and how was your wedding. ;)

"When all else fails, read the instructions."

We also met online at a board game site, and messaged there, then chatted on the phone for months before we actually got to meet in person. So we certainly hope there is nothing seeming untoward about meeting thru the net. For us it was a natural. We both spent a lot of time online in general. But when we got to talking on the phone then, it was amazing. The very first time we got to speak we talked for over 4 hours and had no idea of the time! And began to talk for hours almost every day. It became apparent there was No Way we were going to let things fizzle from not meeting in person. We were just so right for each other, and could often finish each others sentences. Or just bring up the very thing we would both be thinking of at the same moment. It was amazing. And we are so happy to finally be together, after having a REAL epic trying to make it happen once it was decided! So the Immigration work is part of the continuing saga ... which hopefully can end successfully soon! Regards All, Mr.Ktun
