Hello VJ members

First of all I would like to thank all VJ members who been so much helpful and supportive in my whole I-129f processing and successful K1 and K2 visa interview. This journey was really painful and stressful but you guys helped me a lot being patient sharing each others opinions and progress of your cases.

I would like to share my K1/K2 visa experience today. I(the benificiary) am from Nepal and my fiance is African American. we sent our

-I-129f on May 26 2016.

-USCIS received on May 31

-NOA1 on June 03

-NOA2 ON Aug 10

-NVC received on Aug 23

-NVC left on Aug 26

-Embassy received on Aug 30

-Received my packet 4 from the embassy on Sep 06

-Medical done on Sep 19 & 21(2 days because of my son skin test. Got my medical report on Sep 22 after 3pm)

-Interview done on Oct 26 (at 7:45am, my interview was done by 9:37am)

My interview experience was very good as I found all staffs were very helpful even Nepali too. (I had heard about Nepali staffs being rude and mean in other reviews but that didn't happen to me)

My interview was on Oct 26,2016. I got a call from the embassy on Oct 21, it was Nepali lady and she told me "you have your interview on 26th Oct and you have sent your DS-160 but have not sent of your son's DS-160. So, you need to send it before your interview". I told her I have sent ds 160 of both of us. And gave her the confirmation No. Of my son ds-160 and she found it in her system (may be she didnt see it before) then ask for apology and hung up.

On my interview day:-

My interview was at 7:45am, got there around 7:20am, gate was not opened , there was few police(sasastra police) in the gate. I asked one of them I have an appointment at 7:45am when I can able to go in? He told me security guard will open the gate at 7:30am and when he show the time like 7:45 / 8:00 /8:15 every 15 mins then you have to come here in your interview time mentioned in the appointment letter and asked me to go across the street and wait. I crossed the street and there was already around 20 people waiting.

At 7:30am the gate opened. At 7:35am security guard showed the time 7:45am, all interviewee of 7:45 went to the gate. I and my son was the first one in the line. Security guard asked us to take our passport, appointment letter & DS-160 in hand. He checked my appointment letter and asked if I am K1 visa applicant. And let me go inside the main gate. There was another guard showing me the way and asked me to sit down on the chair. Now they asked all of us if we have our phone, switch it off (but I had not brought mines since I heard in other reviews phone or any gagget are not allowed in the embassy), open any sealed envelop/ documents like medical report (I was worried to open it coz i was thinking CO will open it, I asked him if it ok I open it then he said yes coz I am already in the embassy and any sealed documents are not allowed to take inside the embassy as we was about to go through security check) and if we have brought CD of chest x-ray we dont need it in the embassy so put it in the bag.

Next was they told me to go inside the room and it was security check. Asked me to take off my watch, bag, all documents in the basket and they scanned it, checked my all documents if I have some sealed documents, passports asked me if I have something else in my and my son's pocket. Only documents are allowed to take in so I had to keep my bag in the locker and they gave me my locker No.

After security We all waited for 10 mins and we was guided to go to the another building. Nepali staff asked my 2copies of 2x2" pics, birth certificate(I had only my janma sifaris from the VDC secretary thats the reason why I was worried but it worked well),police report, divorce decree + divorce certificate, any proofs like call log, chatlog , pics together(I showed him two big giant folders then he said these all are your proofs? Then ok leave it. You keep it I ll write down here that you ve two folders and if CO ask you then show this), I-134, 1040 & W2. He didnt ask for letter of employment from my fiance's job. When I asked what about letter of employment he said its not necessary but my fiance's last year tax return was not enough for household of three of us . I explained him that he recently got promoted and he making enough now for affidavit of support so you should put this letter of employment also there. He said well ok but i dont think this will help coz CO calculate ur affidavit of support from his last year tax return.we have to wait and see what decision he ll make.( didnt ask abt his paystubs etc)

My son's documents was only birth certificate and 2x2" pic required. Didnt ask about his child custody and permission letter from his real father etc.

He organized all documents and gave me back and asked me to pay the fee now at counter No. 11. It was Rs58,300 (around $545) total fee for two of us.

I went to room No. 1 and there was Nepali staff she asked me what is my profession? And in which zone your birth place lies ? Have you ever been to any other countries ? Etc. She opened the petion file my fiance sent while filing it and gave me some not important pages from there. Again she organised all my documents and asked for my all civil documents photocopies while doing so she gave me the "RIGHS & PROTECTION PAMPLETS" to read it which was written in Nepali and asked if I understood it. She again explained it in detail and asked me to take this with me in the US. Then she asked me to wait outside in the lobby for my token No. to be called for next finger print.

10 mins later my finger print done.again waited for like 10-15 mins and my token No called by the American CO.

First he did namaste to me and said so you can do your interview in english , right?I said yes and he said "do you know if you present any fradulant then you will never be able to go USA? Everything I submitted is true , etc." I said "yes I know. I do , yes etc." he kept going on asking these question:

1) what is his name?

2)what does he do for a living?

3)what is his mother's name?

4) have you ever met his parents?

5)does he have any brother and sister?( i messed up in this question-i said he has 3 brothers. And oh sorry no. He has 3 sisters but doesnt any brothers)

6)what are their (sisters) name?

7)why do you want to go usa?

8)why do you want to marry in the US but not in your country?

9)did he meet your family?

10)how did you meet?

11) when did you meet in person?(he asked me two times)

12) did he come to visit you here? How many times?when did he visit laspt time?

13)how many days did he stay here in 2nd visit?

14)are you divorced?

15) when did you get divorce?

16)do you have any kids?

17)how many?

18)where is he now? Is he in the embassy now? ( i said he running around somewhere in the embassy)

19)at last he asked me to bring him there and he question him "babu, teĺl me who is in the pic here. Name them" and "do you want to come to the America(in Nepali language, his Nepali was very fluency)?"He returned me my original documents while asking these questions.

After all these questions he said your approved.welcome to America and gave me approval card and asked me to go to the Nepali staff and she ll give me instruction how i should proceed for my passport pick up next. I didnt hear him well as I was too much excited and happy I was busy thanking him(I think I thanked him 4-5 times) lol. Forgot to ask how long will it take to get my passport back.

My interview was like for 7-10mins only and I went out the embassy at 9:37am. (Entered at 7:35am)

Nepali staffs gave me one instruction paper about how I should create my profile in www.ustraveldocs.com/np for the passport pick up location. I had already made my account so I logged in and select my pick up location ie. Nepal Investment bank, Durbarmarg Kathmandu. Send it and printed out its confirmation page( we need it at the time of getting our passport)

I checked my case no. It was showing k1 is Administrative processing and k2 is ready on 27th Oct. Both k1 and k2 was issued on 28th Oct. Now public holidays for 4 days of Tihar. Hope I ll get it soon after holidays done.

Here is my video how I prepared my documents for the interview:

(It was very difficult making my janmadarta sifaris/affidavit of birth , child custodian, letter of permission from my son's father, etc. If any one here in the same situation then plz feel free to text me how I did mines, Thanks)
