I am feeling soo devastated. Someone stole my greencard, ID, and debit card at work today. I am a CR1 holder who was to file on Dec 12th for the 10 year greencard. What to do now? I am heading to the police to file a report. How will I go about removal of conditions? Thanks.

Hi

I was in a similar situation. Mine burnt down in the a house fire. I just filed with out it. So far I have had no problems. Or you can file for a replacement. But that will be 500$ and will not be there befor it expires.

Alternatively if you file for a replacement GC, when you get the receipt of the package you can go get an i551 stamp. Which is valid for one year.

Personally I would just file with out it but submit a letter with the police report stating that the waitlist is longer then the currently HV is valid.

But I'm not a lawyer just my 10cents worth

Do you still have your passport with the endorsed visa? You can make an infopass and get a new I-551 stamp in your passport so that you have proof of your legal status. When you submit your ROC, submit that, and your police report regarding your stolen ID. Also contact the USCIS immediately about your stolen green card because that is a big deal.

This happened to me as well....

I called USCIS and they told me they WILL NOT replace an expired greencard. You are required to file a police report and submit that police report if they ask for it. I filed to remove my conditions and then filed for an I-551 stamp in my passport and they assured me it all will be fine

03/09/2014- checked USCIS website and saw update saying "Card/Document production" for I-485

03/13/2014-AOS approved. Received Welcome Letter (i-797)

03/17/2014-Green Card arrived in the mail

Am getting ready to send in my I-751. How long did it take for USCIS to receive your documents after you gotd the tracking number and delivered to the courier? I have 1 month 1 week before my time expires and am waiting on my joint tax documents. Thank you.

03 March 2017: Received biometrics appointment letter dated 25th February 2017. Appointment on 16 March 2017.

16 March 2017: Biometrics completed

08 March 2018: Case (allegedly) transferred to the National Benefits Center (presumably for a combo interview)

04 April 2019: ROC approved (as part of N-400 combo interview)

18 February 2018: N-400 Application submitted online

21 February 2018: NOA1 Rreceived

23 February 2018: Biometrics appointment letter received. Appointment 13 March 2018. 

27 April 2018: Interview notice received. Interview Date: June 5, 2018. Request to reschedule sent as out of the country at that time.

04 April 2019: Attended interview ... PASSED!

11 April 2019: Oath ceremony
