I don't think we fall under family sponsored. That's for spouses, children, parents, etc. And that is an immigrant visa. K1 fiance visa falls under the non immigrant category of I'm not mistaken. I read that bulletin too ?

There is no limit on K-1 or CR-1 Spousal , no cap, people also use I-130 to bring over siblings and there is a wait for that which can be over 10 years or much longer.

Bottom line no affect on our K-1

Hi Jim and amoeba&md,

I've also seen a few people transpose the month with the day.  Most of the world does DD/MM/YYYY, and we Americans (plus I don't know who else...), we do MM/DD/YYYY.  So, I've seen people, probably out of habit, transpose the months and days.  For example putting April 1st 2017 instead of January 4th 2017 for an NOA date.  I've seen a fair share of fat fingering as well.  So there is always a little bit of 'bad data' when there is self reporting.  This messes with our calculated timelines if the NOA is off, but probably not significantly.

Forena

Excellent points Forena99,

Yes us Americans do a lot of things different than the rest of the world including lack of metric system..lol

Sooooooo...good Monday afternoon to the thread here!

I know there has been some concern over the weekend that our new Administration might curtail or stop processing of K-1's and petitions.

Happy to report this is currently not happening. I'm 100% confident everyone who already filed last year will already have NOA 2 before any major changes are made affecting our K-1's.

White House Press Secretary was just asked an hour ago about DACA (allowing children of illegals) which has been a huge debate and he said at present Pres. Trump has no intention of changing anything at this time.

If any changes were to made to immigration it would likely start with DACA and not with our honey bunny petitions.

I just ran a quick USCIS app check and sure enough we already have 2 RFE's sent out today 1/23 for two cases received on 10/31.

This means CSC is still actively working our petitions.

Some other data. I checked last month and this months 10/31 approvals.

There was a TEN day period in December where CSC approved ZERO cases, Dec 9th thru Dec 19th - not a single action or even RFE :protest:

There was also ZERO approvals from Dec 30th thru Jan 5th.

That is over 2 week where they did NOTHING for what reason we don't know it surely wasn't just the holidays.

Anyway it doesn't really matter anymore. They are back working cases now and we can't turn back the clock.

Here is hoping for many approvals this week.

Jim

Cheers to that!

Lol, random and completely off topic, but "thanks" to USCIS's slowdown, our thread is almost 100 pages long already.

Anyway. I would agree with our kind of visa not belonging into the family sponsored category listed in the bulletin. As others have pointed out already, it's one of the few that does not have a cap or anything the like, not to mention the nonimmigrant part (with intent to immigrate). Whatever happens at USCIS's, I'm trying not to worry since we started seeing movement, especially last week, and I just hope that this will keep up (and, being optimistic here, speed up, too). That way, we will keep seeing Nov approvals coming day after day. Sure, they could come faster, but complaining before the 5-6-whatever-month period is up doesn't help anyway.

Thanks for that. So we are talking, basically, almost a month where nothing was processed. CSC was taking approximately 40-50 days or so from NOA1 to NOA2. I wouldn't expect to get a NOA2 before 75 days or so. I am an 11/30 NOA1. I am not expecting anything before about mid-February. Less than ideal perhaps, but the sky isn't falling either.

Hi Mzladyq,

If you have just W-2's you can do your taxes easily on-line for free. If you have investment property, stocks, or self employed then maybe a professional is needed.

I think you mentioned being a teacher so maybe you can do it via turbo tax or you can PM me for more help. Save that $$$ but yes you need to file your taxes.

This is for everyone. Always file your taxes on time April 15th in most years EVEN if you can't afford to pay because there is a significant penalty for Failure to File timely.

The interviewer will have access to nearly everything you already sent to USCIA with the I-129F but they do a lot more digging on the petitioner at that point.

Jim

No im not using online..when i used turbo taxes ... there was a big mishap and they said i owed alot. which a tax attorney looked and said that was incorrect.. so now i have to file back taxes because of what happened. Anyways everything should be fine.

We now are up to 10 RFE's for today for 10/31 cases as of 3 PM PST (CSC time) when I ran the app.

I expect a lot of approvals today based upon the number of RFE's.

We will see as normally the approvals are greater than the daily number of RFE's (normally)

Yes Keemdenice, it really is a day by day even hour by hour process of getting by sometimes. Without NOA 2 life seems on hold the good thing is I know we will all get the NOA 2 it is just a matter of when.
