I just did some sums - and don't want to depress anyone - but unless the CSC picks up the pace it could take them another twelve weeks to get to the cases received on November 9th - this will put them over their five month limit so I imagine they will have to start pushing these cases soon.  There must be people at the csc, who are employed just to ensure that the targets are met, who are doing bigger number crunching than this - in which case, at some point soon we should begin to see bigger numbers being pushed through.

Keep your fingers crossed!

I have just done a bit of googling and it looks as though only government departments in DC get today as a holiday.  Although California notes it as a legal holiday - their office for EDD (employment?) states that is open as usual - so fingers crossed!  With the backlog of cases they currently have, I would imagine that they'd have to be putting staff on overtime in order to not run the risk of hitting their five month limit within the next two or three months.  I guess we'll know in a few hours when the first cases are logged (or not)

There is a five month limit?  for how long cases are waiting for NOA2?

How do you know that?

Let's hope that CSC will finish all the Oct cases by this month so they can start November cases next month. This waiting game sucks but we just have to get through it. Let's keep fighting.

Yes, it used to be after five months, but per USCIS it is now 6 months. If you haven't heard anything from USCIS about your case during this time, you can call to inquire about the status of your I129F Petition or submit an inquiry request online.

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

If your application type is not listed in the processing time table on our website, our goal is to make a decision on your application within 6 months of filing. Please wait six months before submitting an inquiry

Wow, that's a long time.  Thanks for letting me know, I didn't know USCIS stated a limit.  But really, doesn't seem like anything happens if they go past their limit.  It's not like they are any consequences, just more waiting, he he.  But thanks! it's good to know.

SIX months?  Oh dear... this does not fill me with joy.  I have been counting five months for this (maximum), a month at NVC and three months at the consulate - giving me a latest visa date of around early August...  this could mean September instead?  Ungh... had wedding pencilled in for late August...

However, I realised that more than twenty Oct 31st received cases were handled yesterday and at least 4 Nov 1st cases - so I am doing my sums again and hoping that means that around 25 cases per day are being dealt with in some way - so it could be 34 working days (about 7 weeks) to get to the Nov 9th cases - which would still get me to MN in time...

I'm sure if I play with the numbers enough I can find a way to cheer myself up!

According to the California Service Center processing times information chart, the CSC is now processing petitions as of August 16, 2016 (data as of November 30, 2016). However, as you said yourself, they have also been approving cases filed at the end of October / beginning of November at a fairly steady rate this and last week. I understand your concerns; I'm in the same boat, but I also keep my hopes up that our NOA2s will start coming soon. Don't lose hope :)

I sent the RFE last week, they received it on January 12th and approved it today. What a Rollercoaster but finally it has been approved. Now the NVC wait.

Congratulations! It is so good to hear that you and others have been getting these approvals as of late.  All the best to you both!

Ok, you mean six months till the whole visa gets approved.  Not for the NOA2.  Is that correct?

I thought you meant six months for the NOA2.

Yes, I have heard this is the normal amount of time.

But, it does look like it'll be an extra month or two for some of us...

Enjoy your time there. Leave her/him an updated letter of intent to marry if you haven't already.

I'll be heading there to Manila in about 3 weeks from now.

Lucky you. I probably won't until March....and I don't want to leave until NOA2 in case there's an RFE I need to address here in the States.

No, I mean six months for the NOA2. Then i'd expect another four months for NVC and consulate/embassy before getting the visa.

At the moment they are processing/touching about 25 i-129 cases per day.  There are about another 850 cases for the week beginning 31st October which have not yet been touched.  That alone would take another 34 working days of processing at this rate (7 weeks before they even get to the 7th November received applications). There are around 1000 applications per week in November - which would take 8 weeks to process one week of applications at 25 per day.  They have to increase the rate at which they process these or the backlog will be increasing by two months every week!

Lets hope someone at csc is looking at this and doing what they need to do...  This is the first day I have really started to worry...

I don't think that's correct. We're only seeing x per day, but we aren't checking every single date every day. I also don't see anywhere near those numbers, especially the 1000/week. Are you counting all applications or only I-129Fs? The I-129Fs are the only ones we counting here....the others process at their own rates and by other teams.
