Hoping for a NOA2 soon, this week has been particularly trying for me and it would just make things a bit better.

Came back from Chile Tuesday morning arrived after my flight delayed for several hours at 4:00am, got 3.5 hours of sleep and had to get up to go to work. Went to work, was there for 4 hours and found out my Great Grandma passed away. Yesterday the wildfire that has been affecting an area close to where my fiancee works honed in on the mountain in which he is required to stay (in a reserve/park in the mountains of Chile). His coworkers and him asked their employer if they could come down today and the employer said yes but told them to stay at the refuge in which he has absolutely no cell service. I didn't even know if he got there okay until I Whatsapped his employer and asked. Now I asked her to ask him something for me and she doesn't even have the empathy to do that for me, she says they could be there for 3+ days. Looks like I'll be emotionally supporting myself through the funeral. :(

Sorry everyone, I know this isn't particularly for venting but I needed to put it somewhere. We all need our NOA2's soon! Praying for next week!

So sorry to hear about your great nana. Hang on things will get better. Vent away!

We are all hear to listen.

I like the optimism here that different people post..  good luck with your petitions getting approved any time before summer. (ironically they paid $140 to file the same petition)

Hadn't even thought of it from that perspective. Those folks who pay more but get to wait longer.

I think I ran all October 31 filers tonight...

today... 14 approvals and 7 RFE

total for that date overall out of 367 petitions:

129 approved

73 pending RFE

3 rejection

162 unworked

The ones I have been tracking for 10/31 show just about the same for tonight.

128 approved, 72 RFE's and 161 unworked.

I'm trying to load my graph but system here says it won't allow.

Anyway about 14 case approved today and yesterday with 162 more to go so another 11 WORK days to clear them out puts us at around Feb 5th to clear out just the Oct. 31st cases.

So we will see how they do

Oh party in Indonesia. Congrats!

You only check once a week? I check every 5 minutes...hahah...not really but seems like it.

Off to NVC for the 2 of you

Jim

Ha! I checked almost every day! But according to the app, our case status didn't actually change until the 19th even though it was approved on the 13th... Not sure why it took so long for the case status to change online.

That is strange oh well. Important thing is the NOA 2. Was the app on Iphone or Android/google?

The American in the relationship can start calling NVC in about 10 days from now to get the case number in the mean time you can start filling out the DS-160 if you haven't already.

I wonder if today there will be little movement in case approvals/RFEs due to the events occurring in Washington? :(

I REALLY hope not.

I have just done a bit of googling and it looks as though only government departments in DC get today as a holiday.  Although California notes it as a legal holiday - their office for EDD (employment?) states that is open as usual - so fingers crossed!  With the backlog of cases they currently have, I would imagine that they'd have to be putting staff on overtime in order to not run the risk of hitting their five month limit within the next two or three months.  I guess we'll know in a few hours when the first cases are logged (or not)

I just did some sums - and don't want to depress anyone - but unless the CSC picks up the pace it could take them another twelve weeks to get to the cases received on November 9th - this will put them over their five month limit so I imagine they will have to start pushing these cases soon.  There must be people at the csc, who are employed just to ensure that the targets are met, who are doing bigger number crunching than this - in which case, at some point soon we should begin to see bigger numbers being pushed through.

Keep your fingers crossed!

I figured it was possible that it would be an observance day of some sort. My fiance lives in California and on Monday for MLK day, it was a soft holiday for his company. I'm hoping it's the same for the Gov't offices out there too. Only time will tell, today!
