Hoping for a NOA2 soon, this week has been particularly trying for me and it would just make things a bit better.

Came back from Chile Tuesday morning arrived after my flight delayed for several hours at 4:00am, got 3.5 hours of sleep and had to get up to go to work. Went to work, was there for 4 hours and found out my Great Grandma passed away. Yesterday the wildfire that has been affecting an area close to where my fiancee works honed in on the mountain in which he is required to stay (in a reserve/park in the mountains of Chile). His coworkers and him asked their employer if they could come down today and the employer said yes but told them to stay at the refuge in which he has absolutely no cell service. I didn't even know if he got there okay until I Whatsapped his employer and asked. Now I asked her to ask him something for me and she doesn't even have the empathy to do that for me, she says they could be there for 3+ days. Looks like I'll be emotionally supporting myself through the funeral. :(

Sorry everyone, I know this isn't particularly for venting but I needed to put it somewhere. We all need our NOA2's soon! Praying for next week!

Yes, I have heard/seen some things about Nigeria not being one of the safest places. Why all of a sudden there is no reception? We are also used to talking every day, multiple times per day, its hard when that stops.

Congrats! Maybe tomorrow is your day! Keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers for you as well!

I like the optimism here that different people post.. but I just don't get it. I'm the type of a guy that believes in something only when I see real results. I've been following this thread for quite some time, as well as checking string of cases every day...

As of right now there is nothing to be happy about (unfortunately). USCIS performance sucks and it DOES NOT gets any better.

At current pace USCIS wouldn't finish approving our cases anytime before spring. I'm very dissatisfied with their performance, as well as the fact that some late September/early October fillers already had their wedding here in US!!! This is insane how filling just a month later we are now 3-4 month behind them.... As well as December fillers... good luck with your petitions getting approved any time before summer. (ironically they paid $140 to file the same petition)

mzladyq,

I just had my 1 yr anniversary in December.  It was nice to be with him for that landmark in our relationship.  Wishing all the safety and quick recovery of reception for your fiance in Nigeria.  And for the family of Ilaz, we are sorry for your loss.  Don't be afraid to share what's going on.  This is a hard time it sounds.

Mzladyq, I  know you have to be coming up soon for approval.  I enjoy hearing about the landmarks others are reaching with their SOs and how people met.

I understand the frustrations, but things are moving along again. I could be wrong, but I don't think most Nov. filers will be waiting past Feb. Some likely will be, but I think most will be completed by then.

Okay, USCIS performance sucks. How does it suck? What should they be doing to go faster? Keep in mind K-1 NOA1 -> NOA2 used to take an average of ~120 days (4 months). We're pretty fortunate to have had sub-60 day processing times for almost the entire year. But it is what is. I don't think performance is as much of an issue (besides the holiday season, which we expected little to get done) as it about workload. The number of incoming petitions jumped in late October/early November, then spiked again before the new fees kicked in. I don't blame USCIS...I don't know how they could just handle that kind of increase. Hiring sprees still have that lead up time. Nobody I'd rather wait another month than get somebody who doesn't know what they're doing working on cases.

tldr; Have hope, and have faith that they're going as fast as they reasonably can.

Aproooooooooooooved.....   finally my Fiance's 129f has been approved today January 19th.

I sent the RFE last week, they received it on January 12th and approved it today. What a Rollercoaster but finally it has been approved. Now the NYC wait.

So many congratulations to you! :D That's one long wait over. One quick note - on your timeline you have the dates switched into a non American order (I think you meant Jan 4th for RFE, Jan 12th for reply, and Jan 19th for NOA-2 - just a quick note to put them on your timeline as 1/4/17, 1/12/17, and 1/19/17 for the purposes of helping keep all the timelines accurate! Who knows why America is the only country that does the months and days in that order...!)
