I found this interesting.

It is NOT mine

It is someone else's approval for a I-130

Let's see who here can tell what is "interesting" or "unusual" about it.

exactly. I've not seen cases approved on a weekend before. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

Anyway hoping for  a productive week with USCIS starting tomorrow.

Jim, i thought that was odd too. Received this in the morning. Weekend overtime to catch up or just delays on the notifications? By the way, the ads on the android app are totally inappropriate.

I attended an annual event at a friend's place over the weekend. One of his wife's friends brought her boyfriend. He was a fellow vet, so we struck up a conversation, during which he told me that he works for immigration. He stated one of the things that has gotten them behind is a change in form (I don't remember details). He also said they have authorized a bunch of overtime recently.

Does anyone feel that this part of the process (or the entire process) is a lot of anxiety on the part of the petitioner rather than the beneficiary or shared stress? I understand that everyone is different, but it seems most people in this group  watching and fretting over the wait are in the former group and not the latter group. Plus as Americans maybe we just have more invested because they are there and we are here where it would be reversed if we were immigrating to their countries? Just a thought.

Yes I definitely feel that the stress is and anxiety is more on me, the petitioner, than the beneficiary. Glad to hear hear it's not just me having this perspective.  I do feel as if I have more invested in this too.  I am just glad I'm not the one who's the beneficiary because I would feel like my life is in limbo waiting for the petitioner and their country to give me the ok and sort of validate me.  That's just my own odd thinking on that part I suppose.

I am friends with this person so the conversation was very casual and I wasn't sure how much I could ask before she perceived that I maybe asking for insider info or preferential treatment. She said she will get back to me with more info tomorrow if she finds out anything at lunch tomorrow from coworkers. You are correct that the "cause" for the slowdown wasn't given, but she really didn't know. It seemed there was no perception at the office that there was a slowdown at all. I work in a profession where I also review, approve and reject large packets of documents that the public sends as well as manages peopel who do the same so from that experience I know that the types of cases worked are decided by management not by the workers. Everything government related is very political. If someone complains about one type of case then they will be worked and vice versa. Just keep this in mind. It doesn't help and it doesn't make it any easier for me knowing this information.

Thank you for your information.  Much appreciated.

Hey, that's weird. I checked the iphone app and the android case tracker app, they both said that WAC1790070059 was case received. Not yet approved?? That's weird. What app did you use to generate this result?

Funny that you mention that. Now I actually recall that there was a change taking place in the forms used and I never thought of that being a possible reason for delays.  Thanks for mentioning it.
