I-129F November 2016 Filers

Here is the email that I wrote to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@dhs.gov.   Anyone care to join in?  Jim, you had some incredible good news?

I am writing to see if you can help me (and the many others in the same position) gain some insight into why the CSC has drastically slowed down K-1 (129F) approvals for those that got their NOA1s in November.  We  could see that, until the November files, the NOA2 approvals were being issued at around 35 days.  Now, as we are approaching 70 days, it apparent from looking at the USCIS data base for CSC, that almost none are being approved and have not been since December.

Because being reunited with our fiancés is so important to us, any insight you can provide into this drastic slowdown would be much appreciated and will help us plan our lives and finances for 2017.  I am not asking for individual case information.

Thank you for your help.

Jim, it is nice to hear that this process is equal anxiety so while she is comforting me now that I will need to comfort her later. I am glad you are so helpful. You being around makes things easier especially your daily updates.

YBHamster here is the BEST UPDATE of the MONTH so far!!!

I've been tracking 10/31 receipt dates on the USCIS App.

As previously stated they approved only 38 of over 350 and it took them nearly 2 1/2 months.

The Big news is today alone they approved 34 MORE cases from 10/31.

Just incredible.

I'm not sure if this much work got done in 1 day or they did these over the course of the month and  decided to batch them out in large bulk approvals but there it is for everyone to digest.

Bottom line we have some serious movement from USCIS CSC today.

These 34 are just from 10/31 so I'm sure there will be many other NOA 2's issued from other dates as well( I Hope )

Receipt for 10/31 now stands at 72 Approved 35 RFE with 244 left to go.

Here's another email address for the Ombudsman that may be more oriented towards answering our type of questions (probably not), her name is Maria Odom.  CISombudsman.PublicAffairs@hq.dhs.gov

https://www.dhs.gov/person/maria-m-odom

Her page says "Under her leadership, the Ombudsman’s Office serves as a visible, accessible and reliable resource to the community. "   :-)

No one.. I know that knowing the issue doesn't brings us any closer to NOA2, but c'mon... I at least have to plan somehow the wedding. I'm running out of patience. I already picked the wedding date, but still can't make any reservations till at least NOA2. As soon as I get it I'm planning to print invitations, pay security deposits to a photographer, catering etc... And yet we're just waiting here knowing nothing. The longer I wait to reserve something the higher the prices will get.

Here is what I took from this thread from the past 5 days:

From various comments the delay can't be due to:

- Vacations

- Administration change/Elections

- Amount of petitions filed

- DACA

I'm clueless about what could be a good explanation then:

We can even be sure if our petition would get processed within a month or 2-3..

This is excellent idea and I will copy / paste and send it to them myself. I just changed the approaching date to 75 and asked if this delay had anything to do with DACA and or the upcoming Admin change. Probably get a canned response but what the heck. Can't hurt. Email is free..LOL

I don't know if this has anything to do with it also - but the USCIS News part of the Case Tracker App has an article published today stating that the USCIS has reached the H-2B cap for (non-agricultural work visa) for the first half of 2017 and will reject all further applications for work beginning before April 2017. I wonder if more workers who have been processing the H-2B visas in order to meet this deadline are now able to work on other visas such as K-1?

That is good news.  Thanks, Jim.  Do you mean there are 344 just for October 31?  I think you have the Apple app -- I have Android without all the app features.  Is it possible to get a case number for one of the approvals?  If you can, it would help me track the progress.

Thanks and no problem. We are all in this together.

Sorry about the passport ads or whatever in the USCIS App photo above. I should have cropped the pictures.

The other good thing I noticed is that there were No RFE's issued today for 10/31 receipt dates.

Please everyone remember that your NOA 1 could be 11/1, 11,2 or even 11/3 and still be in this 10/31 receipt batch.

I don't think so. The H-2B has a cap which means only a certain number of work visas can be issued.

There is really no deadline. The cap is reached and they won't take anymore util after April 2017.

Basically they are saying don't send anymore work visas until after 2017 we have our limit.

Sure would be nice to know what the real K-1 hold up has been for though.
