RIght now (11:25 PST), there is a Twitter conversation at #AskUSCIS that is supposed to answer questions directly from USCIS.  Mostly bureaucratic, but may be worth a short at submitting more 129F/CSC questions.

https://twitter.com/hashtag/askuscis?f=tweets&vertical=default&src=hash

Thanks for posting this.

Not sure if there is a Ken in this thread maybe over in October filers or he may not even be on this site or no about it.

Anyway he posted this question to USCIS twitter:

Ken Pomper ‏@KenPomper  13h13 hours ago

#AskUSCIS Please, some insight into 129F slowdown at CSC in past month and what to expect in weeks ahead!

Of course it did not appear that USCIS responded. It must be a secret so  shhhhhh. quite.

I am a Dec 1st filer but am following u guys closely coz when u get approved, I know I will be coming next. Whatever is going on at CSC is frustrating. Is it possible that DACA is again taking priority over us as it has been in the past? Maybe the center is trying so hard to approve as many DACA cases as possible before Trump coz he has promised to end the program yet California has one of the biggest number of DACA cases

Ok I know you are all tired of seeing my post here but here is one more before sleepy time.-_-

Update: Hey WAKE UP a BIT of good news here people. It's only Midnight here on West Coast where CSC is located.

First the BAD news:

For cases received by USCIS on 10/28 there were ZERO approvals today. Over the past week there have been Zero approvals for that date.

CSC is stuck at 55 approvals total, 45 RFE's and 32 unworked / unapproved cases from 10/28 :crying:

GOOD NEWS !!! :D

For cases received by USCIS on 10/31 there were SIX approvals today. Over the past 13 days there HAD been only ONE approval for that date.

CSC now has 38 approval, 22 RFE's and 281 unworked / unapproved cases form 10/31

Now for some fuzzy math. They approved 6 case today for cases received on 10/31.

If CSC doubles their out put that would be 12 per day with 281 case left that means it would take about 23 more WORK days

to clear out just the cases received by USCIS on 10/31 plus 22 RFE cases.

The big question is what on earth are they doing at CSC?

We know what they are NOT doing.. I-129F's

I don't mean for this link to be a political statement in the least. It is purely informational so please lets not debate the political aspect here.

http://www.salon.com/2017/01/10/jeff-sessions-threatens-dreamers-trump-plans-to-throw-daca-immigrants-to-the-wolves/

I'm more concerned if this is actually the reason as KF & OS stated that it could be prioritized over other types of immigration issues.

You mention that DACA has taken priority in the past? Can you please share more of that information. How do you know this?

You may very well be on to something.

The thinking was that no changes could be made by Trump to USCIS until after he was elected and only after his party pushed it through.

I had not thought that this could be an Obama order or direction to push more DACA applicants through before Trump takes over.

Having said that the article linked above isn't clear if DACA would be terminated and or if those who filed would be denied/reversed by future administrations.

Sure would like to hear more from you KF and other's who may be familiar with this.

If this is the case then it could truly be a 5-7 month processing time for I-129F's NOA 2.

I certainly hope not but 6 approvals out of the 280 that I monitored for today is really not that promising albeit better than ZERO.

Sounds plausible to me. However some people are calling for Obama to issue a blanket pardon to DACAs before he leaves office.

Yes, including other factors like increasing the USCIS fees which made many people file early, US ambassador appointees of Obama having to leave office at the close of his term thereby causing a backlog at the NVC and the consulates. I think we need people to start making some noise to their representatives. Its also possible that CSC is also giving priority to N-400 still because of the uncertainty surrounding a Trump Admin. They may reason that we K-1 and CR1 cases have not much to worry about so we can wait even 7 months, its pathetic

OK I read nearly ever post. See the bottom line quote below.

I think we now know the answer thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.

If I had filed 2 weeks earlier , shoulda woulda coulda, oh well.

I think we are looking at 6-7 months now. Very sad day indeed.

Interesting that the graphs he provided show that CR-1 is not really affected it was only I-129F that are.

Options. - wait 3 to 5 more months or withdraw I-129F, go get married and do CR-1...hmmmmm may have to consider that.
The CR-1 is actually less expensive over all and approval rate is a bit higher than K-1 at interview stage.

Good night again.

Jim

"What’s even more interesting, however, is that this graph shows that the DACA applications have not had any noticeable impact on the completion rates for any other application except the I-129F. Whether you include completions of DACA apps or not, non-I-129F All CSC Apps CPP ratio stays the same. Pretty damning evidence that the DACA apps are getting the same priority as every other application type and that I-129Fs are being singled out for a slowdown to compensate for that."

Its very sad indeed. But this is just an assumption Coz these links i have provided related to incidences that happened in 2013. So we may expect a speeding up of the process after Trump takes office. Let us remain optimistic. I dont want to sound insensitive, but I dont understand why they would give priority to illegal people at the expense of those trying to do things legally? Guys, if by end of Feb u have not been approved, collectively start making noise to ur representatives, pleaseeeee

This has been my theory all along with any other visa that a new administration may not want to process as quickly. Obama and his policies are leaving office so it's normal for the outgoing President to push through their agendas in final weeks (includes Presidential pardons). Hope I'm wrong but it's quite logical when you think about it.

If turns out to be true and massive delays then probably going to look at filing DCF and withdrawing my k-1. Sincerely hope my logic is incorrect for all of our sakes.

I agree with Jim, most of our lives are on hold. If your fiance was here and you are together than there would be no issue with waiting, but alas most of us are not fortunate enough to have that be the case. This is probably premature, but has anyone contacted their Congressperson regarding the slowdown or processing of their application? I have worked with mine in the past on different issues as well as him living down the block from me. I was wondering if it would be wise to ask about it even though it is within the "five month" processing period. Not exactly asking for expedition, but regarding what the priorities are right now and when we may see some processing gusto again.

I feel bad for December/January filers who filed after Dec. 24. Now they are stuck with $540 filling fee (instead of $340 that we paid) + there'll be getting super slow processing times. :clock:

Now were're stuck here for a while because of these reasons:

1. With the change of federal administration some USCIS officers that are worried about losing their positions are taking now all accumulated vacation/time-off days in advance for 2017.

2.(Hopefully it's this one:unsure:) With the increased filling fee USCIS hired more people to process documents quciker and is using current officers to train/mentor the new ones

i-751 SRC timeline:

Spoiler
  • 10-30-2019:  I-751 packet received
  • 12-??-2019:   Missed bio appointment
  • 01-??-2020:   Missed bio appointment
  • 03-10-2020:  Biometrics completed
  • 03-11-2020:  Case status changed to “Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken”
  • 05-28-2020:  Case status changed to “New Card Is Being Produced”
  • 05-29-2020:  Case status changed to “Case Was Approved”
