Geez at this rate I'm going to have to start shopping plane tickets.

Not a bad idea.

I have my ticket for February Korean air $570 RT West coast to Manila.

How do you respond to potential RFE's if you are gone? I will visit when I get approval of the petition and it is sent to NVC. Maybe I am just paranoid.

Good point Ybhamster and I had not thought about that.

I bought the ticket thinking I'd have an approval long before the trip as NOA 2's were coming in fast an furious but that all changed literally on the week I filed.

Only RFE I see would be for further proof of relationship since we only met one time.

So this trip would be additional proof plus all the hundreds of pages of text, voice calls, etc.

Trip is under 2 weeks and by then I'll have already waited over 3 months for NOA 2.

Hope it doesn't come to RFE taking that long to show up here but never know.

Thanks for thinking about that.

No problem buddy. We were going to vacation in February as well since it is our anniversary as well as Valentines Day, but I thought it best to hold off just in case. Hopefully things will pick up because tickets for February are expensive now. Neither of us have been through the process before so we are just being extra careful. We don't want to have to go through it again. ?

Yes I agree. Nice you get to knock out V-Day and Anniversary in the same month!!

Try EVA air they have $600 range in February last I looked.

Other option is asiana out of Taipei

I just posted somewhere about Korean Air but I'm actually flying EVA.

Be sure to get lots of photos on different days of you with his family.

Have a safe trip when you go and Happy Holiday's there.

Yesterday I spoke to an immigration officer who said they never received an addendum (that they asked me to mail in after I called with a question) from three weeks ago. Argh! So I guess on the "bright" side of waiting for NOA2 is being able to resend what was needed before any possible RFE. At first he thought I was asking about my application status and proceeded to tell me "it's too soon to call about your case." In other words, we have not touched your file." Ha!

My understanding is that when you get an RFE there is a special sheet that you send back with your response and to a specific address.

The first time you called did they give you the address where to send it and did you sent it with delivery tracking?

If so did the post office show that USCIS received what you sent?

I mean it does not matter now there is nothing to be done about it but it would be nice to know if they even got what you sent the first time.

The problem is there are so many files and papers coming to them that if you just sent it to a general address it could take weeks or longer for them to open it up and associate your document with your I-129F

Where if you have an actual RFE I believe it is tracked in a different manor by CSC/USCIS. - possibly bar coded.

Sorry lot of questions here.

So when you sent the addendum the 2nd time was the address or method to mail it to them any different that the first time?

If I were you I would be calling them a few days after the item shows delivered to insure they got it this time.

Thanks for the updates

Jim

Hey Jim,

The 1st guy told me to send it to the address listed in the NOA1 "once I got it." It ended up being po box 3011...I totally was not thinking to get a tracking # :-( so that letter is who knows where. Now this time I was given the address where RFE's go, and I have a tracking #.

Hello Rafa 1974, doubtful there will be any more than a few approvals for the rest of the year.

CSC has ground to a halt and now they are in holiday vacation mode.

Enjoy your time with her I assume she has a tourist visa already.
