I-129F November 2016 Filers

Does USCIS process files in order of receipt, or in order of the WAC filing number?

Odd question, I know but looking at geos graph, I have a November 18 receipt date and a WAC filing number in the 90000 range - others who have a November 18 receipt date seem to have WAC numbers in the 85000 range.

My NOA1 notice was dated Dec 2, if that matters.

Thanks for any input!

Hey everyone, I don't know if this question has been asked already (apologies if it has, and if someone can direct my to the thread or post that would be greatly appreciated), but can someone travel to the United States after the visa has been granted, without the visa, but with the intention to return to their country, and move to the US at a later date?

My best friend is getting married in September, and I know I have some time between my (calculated) VISA approval date and moving date, but she has her bachelorette happening in Vegas in July. Does anyone know if this is allowed?

Hi!

From my research, the K1 visa is a single entry visa. So from what I understand, after you are issued the K1 visa and enter the US, if you leave, you won't be able to use the K1 visa anymore. You will have to apply for another one.

So hopefully all your trips will happen BEFORE you are issued the K1 visa and placed in your passport. :)

If you scroll backward through the posts and Geowrian's nightly posts, you will see that USCIS processes loosely in order of receipt, with cases currently being processed stretching from receipt date of 10/31 through 11/23. USCIS seems to process a number of cases across dates daily, rather than working on the dates until they are closed. Sometimes the WAC numbers assigned are in great chronological order, and sometimes they aren't (sometimes great numbers are skipped). I wouldn't really worry about that too much as it doesn't really seem to affect the order yours gets processed in - just the receipt date does.

This is great. Thank you Geo.

I'm just curious if the current number being approved means they are catching up or falling further behind? My simple math is they receive on average 300 a day but only approving 90 which translates to roughly falling behind a further 3 days for every new day. I assume they will soon need to increase efficiency even more including hire more people or will soon hit the 5 month trigger point soon.

Hi Everyone, My fiance filed an 1-129F petition that was receive on November 28th.  We included a medical expedite request (my fiance has cancer) which was picked up for review when he called to follow up in January.  Since then we've had no response and have been unable to get through to anyone at USCIS.  I was surprised to see on this thread that November petitioners are being approved already.  Will our expedite request have messed this up?

They're not getting 300 K-1s a day...at least not in Dec. I've counted about 4300 K-1 petitions sent from Dec 1 - Dec. 31. Of those, only ~4000 were accepted (a lot are rejected right away due to filing or payment issues). The vast majority of those (~3200) are pre-Christmas...~800 were received in a spike between Christmas and New Years. Anyway, that averages to about 129/day (total), or 174/day (weekdays only). While this is still a lot, they're processing close ~150 (give or take 20) per day right now. I haven't checked January or February, but they may have slowed down now as well. Late Oct. and all November were basically just a set of spikes in petitions from what it seems.

Hiring more people isn't really a fix off-hand. I imagine it takes at least months to train somebody to the point where they can process applications to a decent level on their own. Not that it's not needed long-term, but I doubt it would affect anybody form Nov, Dec., or even maybe January.

Thanks! So basically the WAC number doesn't matter - the receipt date matters. Interesting. Because you would think the WAC number would roughly correspond to the receipt date, but it just doesn't in my case.

Not bad, USCIS. Not bad! Lots of RFEs still, but they're cranking away pretty well. Hopefully the RFEs are for good reasons and people rushing to get in before the fee hike or post-election. Lots of RFEs and denials on the early Nov. and Oct filers especially...my guess now is they weren't all just overlooked but had to be looked at more closely.

Thanks Geo!!!! I cant wait to see a 3 digit number of approvals!!! :D my case is still soo soo far away, but i'll be thrilled knowing im getting closer! :)

I wrote an email to USCIS yesterday asking them to update the processing times and atleast the dates on their website. It still says August 16th for K1/K2, Let's see if it helps at all.. will post their revert here :) (if I receive anything at all :P) .Ironically my heart whispers to uscis - "please dont bother replying to emails, keep entire focus on the i129Fs!!!! )

they have to be completed within four months of your NOA2 date - there will be an expiry date on your NOA2 notice

However, I think you can request an extension from the embassy
