Hey - so Aaron has been trying to call the NVC today - since 7am EST as per the website - and is continually getting a message that the NVC is closed and to call back during opening hours.

Anyone know what is going on?  Is it a state holiday in NH?

Hey,

I work with company located in Portland, ME and today we received e-mail explaining  closed office which is caused by severe snowstorms (up to 60cm of snow), employers couldnt really come to work, so this might be a reason why NVC in NH was not open (?) that's only my speculation.  :)

I just called right now. It seems like they are closed and try calling back normal business hours. :( I will try again tomorrow.

And also to @Chelleyandaaron - my family lives all in that area. There was a massive snowstorm indeed! My sister, mother, brother, and father all have different places of employment (school, government, law firm, and retail) and all four of them had an unplanned day off of work as their workplaces were completely closed. I would not be surprised if there is NO movement today in NVC on anyone's application (in terms of moving toward getting a case number, forwarded to embassy, etc). Here's to hoping the snow is cleared quickly and people are back to work soon - that area of the country is used to snow and they are prepared, and the snow should stop tonight by 7 PM EST - so they should be back at it tomorrow morning!

I've been searching for where I have to go to get my medical done but I'm not finding anything.  Anyone know where I can find this info?

Here are specific threads that I sent to my fiancé that talk about getting your medical done.  If you search "Canada medical" in the search bar on this website, you should pull up quite a few threads.  Depending on where you want to have your medical done (his will be in Toronto), you can also search for Vancouver, Toronto, or Montreal.

Hi Everyone, My fiance filed an 1-129F petition that was receive on November 28th.  We included a medical expedite request (my fiance has cancer) which was picked up for review when he called to follow up in January.  Since then we've had no response and have been unable to get through to anyone at USCIS.  I was surprised to see on this thread that November petitioners are being approved already.  Will our expedite request have messed this up?

First, I'm sorry to hear about that. Best wishes.

No, an expedite request will not slow down the process, even if it gets rejected. That said, even if an expedite was approved today, it would likely not have any measurable effect at it still takes a week or so, and does not carry over into the to NVC or embassy phases.
