Hi guys, I just created a close group on facebook just for november 2016 filers. I think we can always get to know each other not only on this forum, but also on other social network, and who knows maybe in the near future we can offline and meet up somewhere in America with our husbands and wives. The reason I want to creat a group is that we can talk, and discuss more, about all the k1 visa process, and we can always support and help each other in life when you, me come to America. Because I know after we all got a visa, this thread is going to be forgotten, I just want to connect people together after that. If anybody is interested in this group I will post a link here

Hi friends!

 

So I have been reading a lot of mixed things when it comes to the appropriate time to wait until calling NVS after receiving your NOA2. Lots of people said they waited a few weeks (way to antsy to do that) while others said they called everyday starting the day after receiving their NOA2. So I waited a week and tried calling today and they didn't have my number yet, and the woman said "we wont dont receive or process cases until 6 weeks after your NOA2 date"....oops. But part of me feels like thats just something they have to say and hopefully it will be ready within the next week?

 

Anyone who has gotten their approval given NVC a call yet? What is the general time people have been waiting in the last few months, does anyone know?

Hey friend! 

This 6 weeks thing she said is not true, because I know of a lot of people(many on this forum itself) who got the case number from NVC within 10-12 days. Thing is California to NVC itself takes some time (east n west coast) and add the processing time to this. From whateverI've seen in recent past, call NVC 8-10 days from NOA2. And hopefully you have the case number within 3 weeks. (i hope thats the max)

Which number did you call and which time of the day? My fiance called Monday evening and was put on hold for 1,5 hours! He never got through...

A lttle question/request - I have just sent a request to join the group and noticed that I can see the members of the group even though I am not yet a member of the group.  Is there some way that the privacy settings could be set so that this isn't visible to random people who aren't a part of our group? (Could it be a secret group?)  I have a specific reason for asking this - and I think I might not be the only one.  I have an abusive ex against whom I had to take out a restraining order for stalking and harrassing me.  So far I think I have managed to stop him finding out that I am moving to the US - I have my privacy settings locked down fairly tightly.  On one occassion previously he threatened to contact US immigration and tell them a pack of lies in order to stop me travelling there to visit friends - I'm worried about what he might do to stop me getting my visa if he manages to find me on a facebook group for fiance visas.
