I know someone who was on this show who is a friend of my brothers. His relationship was portrayed as creepy and troubling with lots of internal family strife and made his fiance look like a filipina gold digger. In reality they aren't any of those things. They are still very happily married and regret going on the show. If I recall they only made about 10k after taxes for doing the show. Which is a lot of money, but not worth the ill perception that they received around the city and from his coworkers.

This show is for entertainment only and seeks to show the rather difficult K1 process as a shame and a easy way to get to the USA while duping dumb and undesirable Americans.

My fiance's son is turning 7 in May. He's getting to the age where he'll probably spend more time with one parent than another, but legalities are still required for them. Especially if I'll want his son to take visits back to Canada with us. I'm not the petitioner, I'm the beneficiary. I'm doing all the research for my move to the States; Toronto, to Santa Ana, CA.

How old is your fiance's son? Does your fiance plan on having his son move to the States in the future?

Nice! So you will be arriving to the step son situation :)

My fiances son is 9 going to be 10 soon. Unfortunately due to how his country's laws are and how they favor mom over dad and bio mom would never allow him to come here without a fight so probably not, just visits.

Custody battles are hard, I hope it is over soon for you, your fiancé and your fiances sons case. We went though a pretty bad one ourselves recently and changing to the new agreement to allow stepson out of Chile is going to be a battle too unfortunately.

Great to see all of the approvals start to come in. I am a December filer with NOA-1 date of December 9th. I lurk on the November forum daily to get the updates and it seems like it's getting closer. On a funny side note I wonder if you sign up for 90 day fiancé would your K-1 get expedited as part of the show, and does VH1 pay for the travel :D

Zero expedite as a matter of fact there was one couple still waiting after the show ended.

They can pay for certain travel if they think it will boost their ratings.

Yeah I don't think we have enough drama for that show so the ratings would definitely tank lol.

Omg! Ur received date for NOA1 is Nov 15… a day after mine!  I'm getting close to my NOA2 I hope! ?

Congratulations!!!

Thank you :)

Our received date was 9th November at CSC - our NOA1 date on the notice was 14th November.  But I was completely surprised to get the approval because i know there are still a few hundred cases ahead of us and so I was expecting to wait another few weeks.  As I mentioned in an earlier post it seems to be a bit pot luck sometimes and so it could be three or four weeks either side of the bulk of approvals for the same date.  But having said that - there has been a lot of activity in the past week and it seems to be picking up pace - so we have much brighter prospects for getting the November cases processed in the next month or so.  Hang in there, stay patient and you'll get there!  We were really lucky - and it won't be long now for everyone else!  x

Congrats

What was your partner's reaction?

Off to NVC for you both.:dancing:

Jim

His reaction was 'good'

He lets me do the worrying for both of us!  He's so laid back and I'm the one who stresses.  His attitude is "It'll all work out.  You have it all under control and it doens't matter if we have to wait, we have the rest of our lives together..."  we're a good balance for each other!

Next - yours Jim. We're all rooting for you!

ah - facetime time.  Maybe he'll be a bit more excited in person!

Ok this has been discussed on other places here on the forum in the years past but I haven't seen it come up in this thread.

Any one here who would be brave enough to do a reality TV show?

Not me....LOL

I'm out haha

I know a lot of it is staged or guided reality but still it is mildly entertaining but sometimes down right horrifying on the other hand $$$ to those who end up on the show.
