I-129F November 2016 Filers

Here is some information for whatever it's worth. According to the app my case was approved on January 24. I never received a text or email for the NOA2 and would not have known but for daily checking the app.

They mailed my hard copy the next day on the 25th and I received it today on the 30th. So 6 days from approved until hard copy in hand.

Still hoping for all of you waiting for NOA2...I will give updates through NVC so others have some time estimates as they go forward. After that it is pretty embassy specific I think.

Is there any corner of the internet where people aren't trying to rant about politics?  If anyone knows where it is, please let me know.  It's not that the topic isn't important, it's that it is all over every conceivable media.  There are several threads on visajourney already completely focused on this issue where you can weigh in and comment, etc., and where anyone who may have been affected is most likely participating.  These events aren't focused on K1 visas and as far as I can tell the 170 or so affected people don't include any 129F November filers who participate in this forum.  Can we stay on topic?

I saw one revoked case, received on November 3, approved on January 24 and was revoked on January 27.

I can bet it was revoked b/c beneficiary is from one of 7 countries in the imigration ban list ?

To be fair, she was responding to a question why someone's application was sent in early Nov 2016, approved in early January 2017, then revoked in late January 2017.  To have an application approved, but then revoked, I never heard of that happening as well.  I also think the executive order caused the revocation.

 

But I agree.....lets not have this thread turn to a political rant.  I enjoy seeing everyone supporting each other, as we all desire to be with our loved one.

Ouch...not a good day. There were 0 updates over the weekend as well.

I bet USCIS is too overwhelmed or maybe lazy to review cases and approve them, it must be easier for them to send RFE lol

Yes, LOL, ironically it was my fiance's post but it wasn't clear to me the post was responding to that.  Amye (who I'm FaceTime'ing with) has already given me a minor scolding  .  But yeah the point stands that we can address issues here without excessive political overtones. All these issues are important, and they are being discussed with ardor in many, many places already.

I think you are both incorrect. My understanding is all visas and petitions are being processed up to the point of scheduling an interview for those seven countries. Nor are they revoking issued visas at this time. Now this can change once they announce whatever new vetting they are going to do. My guess it's being revoked for other reasons including possible fraud.

I called a week ago. The person on the other end told me they are 5 months behind. I told him how I can look at other cases ahead of mine that are already approved. He just kept telling me they are 5 months behind at the California office and then hung up on me.

At this point I'm thinking mine us held back due to a background check or something. Even though I've never done anything wrong.

Sorry Jim, thanks for the reminder; I'm still getting familiar with this community and I might have gone too far in assuming my views are widely shared, even in such a community as this.

In my view (though you are welcome to reject it), these issues are too important not to address, anywhere and everywhere. I'm ashamed of our "elected" leadership and I want everyone to know that these nationalist/xenophobic/racist/warmongering policies are not supported by the majority of Americans. I agree, my tone might have been 'excessive,' so I'll tone it down to a respectful pitch but I feel a responsibility to not sit quietly aside in any forum. The very minute most of us "well mannered" Americans decide it's impolite to rail against the loss of our civil and human rights, that's when we've lost them for good.

This is not what is actually happening on the ground, at airports all over the world. People with valid visas are still being denied boarding, or sent home if they managed to land in the US, and some are still being detained without due process. They don't have to revoke anything, they simply aren't honoring them is all. Even where federal judges have ruled this ban illegal, that is only in 4 of 50 states. It's complete chaos and that's not going to change any time soon. We can only speculate on why the one example approval was revoked; maybe someone didn't want to lose their job. Maybe someone called and asked if their approval was still valid, so they got some unwanted attention. ??? Yes, findings of fraud is maybe as likely, but what further review would uncover that after the approval is granted?
