here is a link to those questions to practice on https://rapidvisa.com/fiance-visa-interview/

That's a good resource, but I do just want to note something. It's good to have an idea of what will be asked, but it is not good to have answers already. You don't want the CO to think you just memorized answers. The questions asked should be, in a legitimate relationship, something you should probably know. Giving a memorized answer can imply to the CO that you are only reciting what you're "supposed" to answer.

tldr: It's a good resource but don't memorize responses. :)

Some of those questions are really off the wall too. He asked her my full address and what I do for a living plus my phone number those were kinda expected. But I agree that memorizing isn't great but they are worth going over if you have not ever talked about some of those items

the time line estimate uses info everyone here adds to their timeline to make those estimates,it changes often.  medical goes smoothly as long as you have all needed documents   the interview is basically the same way. be sure to brush up on the 70 popular questions they ask at the interview. now before you get scared they will only ask 3-5 questions out of that list :-)  i will suggest that on the first day of medical that you go to st lukes very early to get in line. My fiance went over at 245am and still was 11th in line. she said there was about 200+ people there that morning for exams.

Thank you for this information, C+D. One quick question for you: Did your fiance use any nearby lodging to the medical center? I would like to find somewhere a short distance...even walking distance, if possible, for when my fiance gets to that point. Maybe that's what yours did and can recommend a decent location to stay. I think trying to find a taxi at that hour of the night and crossing town will only add more stress to the process.

Yes she did,I booked her into casa bacobo. It is about 2 blocks from St Luke's. It has security and a cafe plus free breakfast. She said the breakfast was good and McDonald's is very close too.

She and some other girls all walked there together. I booked thru Expedia think it was 36 a night all in. I just emailed the confirmation number to her.

Not much entertainment near by though.

She stayed 11 days and got medical, cfo and interview all done

Oooh feb 15 to 17!!!

There was a time when the VJ estimates were fairly accurate but when CSC nearly stopped working I-129Fs for 9 days and then another 5 or so over the last few months it really messed up the estimates.

Add to that the fact that for many weeks when they were processing they only did a few a day. My NOA 1 is November 2nd and at that time my EST was about Dec 5th or so we are nearly 2 months beyond that date so don't make any firm arrangements or expectations for any Feb or even March at this point.

Hopefully they will pick things up this week but I've been "hoping" for months now. <_<

All the political drama going on may speed us up or slow us down who know what is really going on behind the scenes or no affect at all.

I believe it was Geowrian who had a contact at USCIS.

Maybe he could pry some more intel (007) LOL , from them later this week.

Oooh feb 15 to 17!!!

As someone else mentioned, these estimates have not been very reliable lately. :) My estimate started out as mid-December, then moved to the beginning of January, then mid-January, then the end of January, then the beginning of February, now mid-February. . . .  We'll see how it goes!  I have been watching the numbers on the spreadsheet geowrian shares every weekday, and I think the end of March is a pretty realistic expectation for my NOA1 date (received Nov. 21st).  Hopefully things will speed up and it will be a little earlier -- we'll see.

When I consulted an immigration lawyer in October, she told us that the whole process (NOA1 to visa in hand) was taking four months, but that it could change at any time.  Based on that information, my fiancé and I got engaged at the beginning of November, submitted our petition as soon as possible, and were hoping to have a summer wedding.  Based on current timelines and the fact that the US embassy in Canada takes an average of 60 days after the interview to mail the visa, we just made the decision this weekend to toss out our plans for a ceremony in August.  Family and friends are asking us when they should schedule vacation, and at this point, we can't guarantee anything.  We'll have a courthouse wedding whenever his visa comes through and schedule our ceremony later -- maybe the first weekend in October (Canadian Thanksgiving) or around Christmas.  I'm taking all of the VJ estimated timelines with a grain of salt. :)

Thank you both for the information.  I know the estimates are off.  I'm expecting the worst but maybe it will be sooner than we think.

Amy, we decided to do a road trip from BC to TX and get married in Vegas on the way.  Just Scott and I roaming the west together, from North to South.  We will have a big family wedding in a year or two when we have the time to have exactly what we want.  At least this way, we don't have to worry about the USCIS delays and trying to plan a wedding around it.

When she went for her medical exam, she was very lucky in that she did not have to return on the second day. She got the full exam and her vaccinations all in 1 Day. We still do not know how or why they did that.

I can easily understand,I was not patient during that portion of the process, now I have patience to wait for the visa issuance and now she is feeling impatient about it LOL

here is a link to those questions to practice on https://rapidvisa.com/fiance-visa-interview/

you will spend more time going from one window to the next in the embassy giving different documents to the clerks then you will spend talking to the interviewer. Just be sure to have your documents organized and it will go smoothly for you

Excellent link.

I'll send this to my her.

Hi Ray, I told Javadown02 about this hotel and his fiancee stayed there. I've heard good things about it and it seems like a large percentage of their guest are there for embassy purposes.

Here is a review from on of the fiancee's who is not in USA.

Talking about hotels and the next steps. Sure wish we could all do that. I am so tired of nearly 3 months of nothing but NOA 2 discussions LOL

Can we finally move on to the next step?

Jim

Ha! Matching outfits. Mzladyq your fiance is brave.

Don't think I could pull that off..haha

Enjoy your weekend!

Jim

its normal in nigerian culture for couples or families to be matching wearing the exact same patterns. its very very common lol. If u did it in Nigeria no one would think anything of it lol. But in America i would feel a bit more self consious. but id still do it lol since its my culture lol.
