I thought i would share this info about our interview we had last week.  When she went through the interview, they only asked for a few documents from her. Her birth certificate, passport, some photos of us together and the death certificate of her late husband and i believe 2 other documents.

When she gave them the death certificate, they said that it had to be certified. she tried to explain that it was because it was stamped on the back by the office that issued it. the embassy officer said that it had to be both stamped and certified by that office.

she had to go to the NSO office and order a new certificate that was stamped and certified. the certificate is 150 pesos and then to expedite it to the embassy is 210 pesos. Hopefully passing this on may save someone else a few extra days to obtain this document to satisfy the embassy in the philippines. they said they would issue a visa after they received that document. they should have it by Tuesday next week

You all good, nothing to worry about.

I was checking statuses on this app by spinachllc called uscis status...i constantly get updates on all forms processed and mostly all are employement approval or adjustment of status.. hardly i129fs... i wonder if the govt officials have been asked to process these first and hence the delays with our fiance visas.. any clue?

Different groups process those forms. EADs normally only take 90 days total, and there are far more of those than I-129Fs. Same for the I-485s (albeit they take around a year).

Hey buddy!! Thanks for doing this for all of us :)

I was trying to get the speed of processing from various forums (its around 70 cases a day approx) . At this rate do you think Dec filers will their NOA2 by mid march? VJ says end of feb but lookig at the delays i wonder if that'll hold true.

Is anyone here who has been in this process in Dec 2015 also or heard of it? Just in case this kind of delay happens every year end :/

No problem!

It is around 70 cases touched per day the last several days. It was slower prior to that (screw you holidays...only I'm supposed to use them! :jest:)  I'm a Dec. filer as well, and VJ says the same for me. I hope that's the case, but end of March is my optimistic expectation. End of May is my pessimistic expectation. =\

There are delays every year around this time, but given that it was an election year (unlike one in recent history IMHO) it seems to have caused a spike in applicants as well. More work to do + slowing down = delays.

Hi friends,

We got our NOA2 on Jan 25th. I was alerted by the USCIS app, and also checked our receipt number through the USCIS website (Just to make sure ;) ) But we still have not received a text and or an email. Is this normal? Hopefully the hard copy will come sometime this week!

Should I be concerned that no email has come through yet?

Hi everyone.  This is my first post.  I am a December 31 filer, but it seems there is more interesting commentary to date on the November filer page.  About the referenced spike in late 2016 applications, are there any statistics on the number of I-129F filers in October, November, December?  I see from the USCIS FY2016 statistics that the number of I-129F filings per quarter were remarkably consistent, with 48000 of 53000 applicants receiving approval.  [Note: the federal fiscal year is from October 1 to September 30.]  So, per the FY2016 stats, there were about 4,400 filings per month.  Can you guys see from the number of NOA1s that this number increased in recent months? Here are the FY2016 stats: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/Reports and Studies/Immigration Forms Data/All Form Types/all_forms_performancedata_fy2016_qtr4.pdf

Hi Sedona and Thomas,

The case update form you sent normally seems to be only for NOA 1.

As long as you see clearly on the app and website that your case is approved you are good.

They DO need to and will send you a paper NOA 2. It is a very important document that you should have.

If you do not have it by Feb 25th then give them a call but you should get it in a week or so from now.

Hi Chellyandaaron, the ban has been lifted by a Federal Judge for now:

A federal judge in Brooklyn, New York issued an emergency stay Saturday night that temporarily blocks the U.S. government from sending people out of the country after they have landed at a U.S. airport with valid visas.

The order barred U.S. border agents from removing anyone who arrived in the U.S. with a valid visa from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. It also covered anyone with an approved refugee application. The Department of Homeland Security said that more than 170 people were denied entry to the U.S. as of Saturday night, according to Reuters.

The ruling by Judge Ann Donnelly of the U.S. District Courtfor the Eastern District of New York came during a hearing called after President Donald Trump issued an executive order blocking people from seven Muslim-majority from entering the United States and putting a temporary halt to refugee admissions

Twelve refugees were detained at JFK Airport within hours of Trump's order restricting immigration from seven majority-Muslim nations -- but two were released later in the day -- as hundreds of protesters continued to amass at the busy airport throughout the day and into the evening.

One of the Iraqis, Hameed Jhalid Darweesh, 53, was released by midday Saturday. “I suffered to move here, to get my family here …. I can’t go back,” Darweesh said shortly after his release, according to the New York Post. Asked if he’d be killed in Iraq, he answered: “Yes, yes.”
