Looking at Jim's signature data and Geowrian's stats, it appears that the proportion of approved/total cases filed, even touched(approved+RFE)//total cases filed may be greater for members of THIS group versus other cases or even all cases?

By contrast, the proportion of RFE/cases filed seems smaller?

This suggests to me that VJ petitions are more diligently prepared, reflect more established/genuine relationships, cleaner petitioner backgrounds, etc. compared to other cases.

Better petition organization may increase the odds of cases being worked on faster, and, in combination with the other petition advantages in this group, remaining NOA2s will come faster than predicted from general stats!

  • 01/03/17 --- I-129F mailed to Lewisville, TX

  • 01/12/17 --- NOA1 date on hard copy notice

Agreed. The peopled who take the time to learn and engage with the VJ community are far less likely to have issues IMHO. A lot of brand-new members often ask questions that demonstrate they don't understand the processes and have incorrect information. Nothing wrong with that (they're new), but people who don't ask and just file blindly are likely to repeat the same issues.

Just got a message that Trump is signing an Executive Order today to authorize "extreme vetting" of immigrants.  I hope this doesn't cause further delays for us.

He announced plans to sign them...he did not sign anything today. A draft indicates the following:

1) Halt on Syrian refugees (temporary?)

2) 30 day halt of visas from certain countries - Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya and Somalia

Hopefully nobody here is impacted by the latter. Again, this is not law. It is merely announced plans for an executive order. That said, I suggest having discussions of the topic over in the megathreads designated for these topics to avoid getting overly political here. :)

My case is Nov. 8th - it's nice to see something a little closer to this date being active.
