From CIS, so I apologize the data shows 54 percent get married not 34 percent. Way different number.

Wow that is something else 54%.

I imagine many of those 18% rejected apps they end up applying again with correct form or Fee and if they were added back to the equation we would be at a higher percent of marriage completions.

Good thing from this article is that it states that fewer than 1% see there visa DENIED now that is a percentage I would expect to be higher with embassy denials. LOL

I think the 31% get cold feet stat also surprises me.

So if this data holds true then only 54% (72% if we add back in the 18% rejected apps) of us on this thread will end up married to our honey bunnies  in the USA.

Thanks for the chart Ybhamster.

Guys, while you all are waiting, would you mind to share whether you've developed plans already with your fiances, how they are going to adapt to their new life in America? What are the first things you are going to take care of? ESL classes? Driving lessons (in my country many women, especially mature ladies, do not drive, for instance)? Going to college? Looking for a job right away?

Great question.

Drivers training and license ASAP.

Oh and honeybunnymoon in Vegas. That should give her a nice dose of culture shock

No job allowed I guess until after AOS.

The <1% denial rate doesn't sound right.

I think they're going by outright denials, which almost never occur since the 2012 changes at CSC. Any rejection by the embassy were being treated as misrepresentations. For example, if you didn't convince the CO of having a bona fide relationship, then claiming you did have one (as you do in your applications) is misrepresentation. Misrepresentations are very bad in immigration. To even find out the reason for the denial, the case had to be reviewed and then an NOID/NOIR sent. Then the petitioner would have the opportunity to prove that the denial/misrepresentation was incorrect. Then USCIS would re-send everything back to the embassy.

The change was to instead of reviewing the p6c fraud "mark", they would sit on the rejected K-1s until they expired. If you re-filed for a new K-1, then they would review the old one. It sounds kinda bad, but it's actually better for people since they don't have to deal with fraud or misrepresentation to overcome. They just have to prove their case the next time. So anyway, denials don't occur very often, but expiring of the application due to rejection at the embassy still does occur much more than 1% of the time.

I check everyday too, is like reading the newspaper everyday. I love it! ^_^
I think it will feel weird after we are all off to our different embassies and after our fiancees are here... it will be like, what am I supposed to check now? I hope we all update with wedding plans/photos etc!

Yes we can all still hang out here after NOA 2, there is the NVC wait that we can commiserate about.

True that each embassy has different requirements but many items remain constant such as CEAC/DS-160/AOS/GC

Glad to have made some friends here and who knows some of us may actually meet in person it has happened in other threads over the years.

That makes more sense and explains the 1% which is misleading in article then.

I believe that our November thread group is pretty strong and have confident relationships. It really means something that our small group sought out a support system during this trying process. We are truly all in this journey together. Helping each other anyway that we can.

Good point. people who have a support and knowledge group versus some poor soul doing this all by themselves or with some overpriced out of touch lawyer might not fair so well.
