I-751 package likely to be received 1 day early than actual filing date?

When I sent my I-130 just over 2 years ago, they picked it up on a Sunday and marked the received date as such. That was at a lockbox though, not a service center. I think you will need to wait and see. How far off are you from your expiration date?

It's the I751 to remove conditions on my husband's green card. The 90 day window starts on Monday 2/13. Which is when I had the delivery scheduled for, but they delivered it Today (2 days before 90 day window opens) :-( I just pray that they do accept it based on a miracle from God! Or that if they reject it, that they return everything quickly and that we don't have to pay twice for application :-(. God help us!

@LGP I sent mine too early as well, according to the USPS stamp it was sent back to me the day after it was received. So if they reject it you will most likely receive it back soon. Most people who had their file rejected because it was sent too early got it back within a few days.

Good luck!

Thank you!! I pray that if they do they will return right away. Did you receive your original packet back along with uncashed checks, or did you have to pay the fees again and gather all of the docs again?

I received the original package back - the check was voided so you just need to write a new one. The first page of the I-751 was stamped "rejected" so just print a new page and send everything back the way it was. It's frustrating but does not make that big of a difference given the overall time it takes to get approved.

Perfect!!! Thank you for sharing your experienced, I feel a bit more at ease. Now we just have to wait for them to return it, and next time I will mail it overnight. I am just so mad at myself because if I would have waited one more day to mail it all of this could have been avoided :-( I just hope that everything gets approved in time before my husband's green card expires, since he needs a valid one for work and his Drivers license expires on the same day as his Green card.

Hi Raph3876,

I forgot to ask you, did you send yours to the Vermont service center or a different one?

My filing window opens on Saturday (Feb 18). My I-751 is dated Feb 18, as are all other documents in the pack.

I'm planning to mail my behemoth file on Thursday, Feb 16 (Ohio to CSC) via the 2-Day USPS large box facility. It should arrive on Saturday, but my understanding is that the CSC mail room don't work Saturdays. Hopefully that will be OK.

Even it it is accepted Monday the 20th you will be fine. The issue is when it arrived before your 90 day window opens, which was the case with me. It was supposed to arrive on Monday 13th (today) which is when my husband's 90 day window opened, but instead it arrived Saturday 1th ( 2 days before). Apparently the service centers are open Saturday because mine was signed for my someone. I am so anxious to see if it will be accepted or rejected, and if so, when I will receive either the returned package or the the acceptance letter. Although as you, our app is signed with the date the 90 day window opens, but I am not certain if that will matter. Either way, we are hoping for the best! Good luck!

Once the application is received and he gets the NOA/extension letter, he "should" be able to extend the DL for another year (exact rules & success seem to vary state to state).
