Getting a Standard teaching certification in Texas

Hi Everybody!!

I am a chemical engineer from Colombia and I want to become a teacher in Texas. I have been reading all about it on the TEA website but I still dont get how I can get the standard certification as an international candidate. I wrote them an email and they basically copied and pasted the info that is on their website. After completing the alternative program (that will ask you the evaluation of your foreign degree) and getting a probationary certificate, would the TEA still ask you for a bachelor degree from an accredited university to get the standard certification? Anyone has done this before?

Thank you!!

Hi

yes I have. This link is if you already have a teacher certification from your home country which I dont have. They contacted me again and explained  what I have to do. The alternative program will be enough to get the certification so thats great news! :)

Oh that's great! What's the alternative program?

So you complete a program through a certified institution. From what I understand they give you a certain approval so the tea can issue a certification. Each institution has their own requirements to be accepted into the program. Here is the link with the steps
