Hello Everyone!

My sister's husband's case was on Administrative Processing in India,Chennai. They gave him a time frame of about 12 weeks. Now when I enquired, the Consulate is asking him to appear at the consulate office with the passport. What do you think? Is it going to be a good news? 'cuz usually they mail the visa. They called him to the embassy. I am worried. Anybody has any experience please share. Thanks.

Only way to find out for sure is to go there and find out.

Just remember, they can't mail the visa if your sisters husband has his passport with him.

I have never heard of them mailing the visa. They need to affix it in the passport and provide him with the "sealed envelope" too for his POE (point of entry).

We went the K1 route, The Chennai consulate mailed up the passport back with the visa in it to Bangalore.

Hi All,

Just curious how long from date of the interview is the VISA (passport) is sent to you?

And if they approve your VISA during the interview, then is there a possibility that the VISA is rejected later?

If you're asking "is there a possibility that you will not be allowed entry into US?", the answer unfortunately is "yes--as it is still up to the discretion of the USCIS officious examining you at the POE".

Never heard of approval being given at interview, and then visa suddenly being cancelled by consulate/embassy.
