Hello Everyone,

I have a question that has been bothering me and I was wondering if you guys could please shed some light on this for me.

My fiancee is currently residing in Russia. She was originally born in Crimea and after Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula and the Economic sanctions placed by the US and Europe hit them she decided to move. She moved near Moscow at the beginning of this year to live with her uncle however ever since she moved there she hasn't been able to land a normal job and now that we are planning on getting married and her moving here we have kind of given up on the idea of looking for a job for her.

My question is, do you guys think this would cause any issues or concern in the eyes of the interviewer?

I personally think that logically it shouldn't based on the fact that she is not being interviewed for a job and instead the point of the interview is to make sure that my fiancee and I are in a "Bonafide" relationship.

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this and if you have had such experience as well.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you guys for your input. It helps put my mind at ease when my thoughts get confirmed by others who have or are going through the same process as me.

Did the interviewer ask you any questions regarding your past employment and why you were unemployed?

Nope, they asked me about what my fiancé (US Citizen) did for work etc but didn't ask about my own employment situation at all.
