I'm dying to have some freedom of expression, I think I can find it in the US and I hope I won't get disappointed

We can't find freedom in this part of the world

Public transport on that list? Oh yea, must be the ones living in NYC, Chicago, or BART area.

Public transport at least in the south (such as Austin) is a bad joke. It's one of the things I miss from every country I've lived so far in.

USAn Suomalaisten Foorumi <-- online place for the Finnish in US

What I like is my hubby and my son, my in-laws, people are really nice, I love when they told me "good job" even when i'm sneezing (lol)- It's huge compare to my island. People are always ready to help you.

They are generous.

There are a lot of professsional opportunities.

The country is huge.

People are wonderful.

what i don't like: - I'm paying my health care, and have a deductible. I'm paying my health care, and won't go to the doctor because of my deductible.

-Everybody seems to be sick (cancer, auto-immune disease, autism...) or have a surgery (hips, ankle...). I almost never heard about all those sickness.

-The food industry (high fructose corn sirup, MSG, sucralose...).

-The medical and pharmaceutical community.

-The political system.

-The blindness or naivety of American.

-The fact that American have to pay for their health insurance (with a high deductible, and high copay), their education (and it's expensive, in my country, if they pay 100 dollar per year, they find that it's expensive.).

-The fact that a child is going to school at 5 years old (instead of 3 years old).

-No bus transportation where I'm leaving, or 1 bus twice a day to go downtown (But I'm used to it).

-A lot of people don't have a critical spirit, ( In the French system, "critical spirit" is a key word, in USA, it's more "believe us").

us=the government, the school system, the military system, the education system, the FDA, the medical system (and drugs), the credit card system (that it's for people to always stay in debt.)

What is the worse for me : it is the medical/pharmaceutical system: my 4 year old son gave his back to the psychologist because she was asking him a question, and it's considered as a severe delay.

-shyness becomes a disorder (I'm sure that one day the pharmaceutical company will find a drug.)

-bad parenting (the aftermaths on children) have different medical names, with different drugs associated.

SCARY

1. My husband & daughter - they make my world complete.

2. The value for money on dining out and shopping and even the cost of living.

3. The natural beauty of the landscape - we enjoy camping, fishing and other outdoor activities. We picked morels last month!

4. I love that you can shoot off on fireworks on 4th!

What I don't like is

1. The pharmaceutical industry and the greedy insurance companies. Everyone seems overly medicated and there seems to be a lack of regulation of the insurance companies. The FDA - I would love to see more restrictions or even bans on food additives that are banned else where or proven to be harmful. The use of real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup in foods. Also the milk tastes like it's been sweetened, seems like everything contains sugar/HFC/artificial sweeteners.

2. The amount of unhealthy advertising on tv, seems like fast food ads come on a lot (along with pharmaceutical and lawyer/mass law suit action ads!)

3. GST not being included on the shelf price and being added at the check out - this just bugs me, anyone else find this annoying?

4. Politics but that's everywhere.
