Anyone's case stuck at the USCIS for more than a year? What's your experience? How did you get out of it? What did you do? What was the reason for the delay? Pleas help

Have you put in a service request to see what's holding it up? Being from Yemen there are very extensive background checks with the unrest that is going on in that region and it isn't unusual to be stuck for this long.

I have and they just tell me that they're waiting for background check clearance. That's all they tell me. And that the USCIS isn't the agency conducting background checks and there's nothing they can do

You really can't do anything about it - even your congressman and senate can't do anything about background checks.

I applied for my wife earlier this year (mid February) while the NOA1 was received five days later. Since that time, and after checking with them so many times - including requests to expedite, status checking, and involving our city congressmen and senate - we haven't received anything. That was until we received a RFE response from them yesterday.

So hang in tight, as the more popular the name is, the longer it will take (for example if the name is Mohamed - then you can expect a very long background check).

Wish you and ourselves the best of luck!

Who is the Pending Background Check for. Petitioner or Spouse?

Does anyone have any information on this issue?  I work in Afghanistan and wondering if I will need to prepare scheduling time for an interview for myself.

No they did not but I have a guess...based in FBI name check. My fiance has a very common name and last name. As for me, I know quite well I have a clean background.

I reached out to many government entities to assist me in my case, so probably that help.

I can't imagine such a long wait. Im near day 90 now waiting for NOA 2. those who filed 1 week before me already have their visas.

Hopefully your time at NVC will go vast.

I would start calling them in about 10 days.

Congrats what a relief there.
