Hello all,

It has been a long and grueling process so far for me and my wife and is kind of taking a toll on us emotionally. I wanted to share some dares with you all and ask for any opinions, so I can get some peace of mind, maybe, vent too?

USCIS priority date is February 19, 2016. I have paid all the fees and dhe DS-260 was entered August 24, 2016. All the financial and supporting documents were sent to NVC. They received and entered them in the system on September 1st 2016. I have kept in touch with NVC and on October 18th when I called to get a status, the agent advised:

"We apologize but our computer systems have has issues and cases have been falling behind due to overload. Please call back in a week if you do not hear from us"

I called on 10/25/2016, and was advised again that the NVC is in back log but on the 18th my file is in supervisor review and maybe juuust maybe it will take another 6 weeks to review. Wait...WHAT? The NVC has had my file for 6 weeks and NOTHING was done? I thought to myself, I did not want to be rude to the agent.

So my question my dear fellow sufferer's, I know that I am not the only one to have this issue and suffering this separation from our loved ones but, what is the time frame? Should I contact my Congressman or let it ride?

Has anyone been in Supervisor review before and how long it took? Wishing to be with my spouse for the holidays but NVC gives no hope just WAIT and the wait is a killer.

Oh, I apologize for the missing info. I am a US Citizen and the visa type will be CR-1 with priority date 02/19/2016. My attorney said since I am US Citizen petitioning for spouse, the priority date is irrelevant. How true is that?

Again, thank you all for any answer you can provide to ease the pain.

GOD SPEED.

not too long for NVC case

be patient

according to many posts on here they are backlogged

and contacting a senator really doesn't help

i was told they have no power over immigration as immigration operates thru fees paid and not a part of federal budget

i even wrote to President and Secretary of State

i got back very polite letters saying

"we are all concerned over immigraiton but we have no power over them except to change the laws"

I COMPLETELY, understand what you are going though because I am going through the SAME thing! I started with CR1 process in March 2016. I thought the longest and hardest part of this process was going to be waiting on the I-130 to be filed. I got pass those 5 months of waiting and now 6 weeks should be a breeze and it feels like eternity. I am the Petitioner (US Citizen) and praying each day that my husband (the beneficiary) will be able to join me for Christmas. I just can't understand why the NVC is taking forever. Trust me you are not the only person. I just wish there is something we could all actually do! This Friday is 4 weeks for me and I was hoping it would have been completed at least by now, since they say "up to" 6 weeks. We have to continue praying and hoping for the best. In your case I would put some type of pressure on the agent to find out what is the next step up that you can do to speed up your process.

You are still doing just fine, actually. The process is expected to take about a year, start to finish. If all goes well at my husband's interview, it will be 11 months from when I first filed to his arrival in the US.

It's correct that priority date has no bearing on a CR-1 case, other than to communicate with others about how long your process is taking. Priority dates affect those cases that don't just move ahead--immigration visa types that have quotas, etc.

I'm sorry about the backlog at NVC, but you really aren't that far behind, if at all. I tend to agree that a congressmember couldn't do much in this case as it stands. I contacted mine because there was an actual mistake that NVC had made in my paperwork that needed to be corrected; it sounds like your case is just waiting in line, and there's nothing they can or will do to make someone jump the line.

Thank you all for the great words. If I count correctly our process started February 19 2016 and since then has been 8 months only. Some friends that I have contacted that have been in the same boat have said that NVC does not take 4-6 weeks anymore but they had the NVC process of 90 days or 3 months. Then they had the case compete, waited 30 more days for the date of interview to be set up which is a month in advance, so total 5 months. So I believe that when you say one year, it is true. I guess we have to be patient and strong and pray for everyone. It is surprising though because the worst time to be in is when you are at the USCIS process and you would think at NVC since all is OK with the USCIS and approved, NVC would be e breeze, but WRONG :)

I pray for all of you and I wish you all that the day you reunite with your loved one it is not far behind. Feel free to give updates on your cases if you like.

GOD SPEED.

Good morning all and a BLESSED Friday to EVERYONE.

I just want to give and update and get y'all's opinion. After 60 days in NVC and supervisor review on 10/18/2016 I checked NVC and the AOS has changed from PAID to N/A. What does that mean? Did they approve the papers and I should call for an interview date?

Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

GOD BLESS.

Good Saturday morning y'all.

I could not wait until Monday so I called NVC last night, and the agent confirmed: "Your case was complete on 10/28/2016, now please wait for an interview date from the US Embassy in Tirana, Albania."

What GREAT news after 8 months :)

Anyone has any idea after confirming the Case Complete, how far is the interview? Most posts say 30 days but wanted to see if anyone had any better time frame.

Thanks again for giving me support, and I pray for the once who are waiting their cases to be Confirmed to NOT GIVE UP.

God Bless.

Good morning all,

I am somewhat confused about this, so I thought to share it with you all and see if I can get some ideas. I will call NVC to confirm as well, but thought to ask y'all.

I received a CC from the website at NVC, 3 N/A, and also over the phone and today 11/02/2016, I receive an email asking for missing supporting documents and the AOS. Is this a set back?

I just want to get an idea from you all because I am confused as to how can a Case be Complete and then ask us for the same stuff we have already sent them???

As I mentioned, I will call to confirm with them what they need and send it to them. Do you all suggests to mail it overnight or email it to them?

I thank you all and GOD SPEED.

That is so horrible if you already sent in what they asked for. Yes, sending it in overnight via FedEx or UPS is the best way because that is what I did to get my documents to them the next day! The sooner the better. Good luck!

If you were told that your case is complete on certain date, then those emails are probably auto-generated.

I would NOT send anything in, it may just confuse the whole thing. You will get request by mail if they need anything else.

I wouldn't worry.
