Medical Interview is the day before the Interview

The medical interview is in Moscow Oct 31, 2016, and the Interview is Nov 1, 2016.

Will there be any problem with this?

In looking at the website, it appears the price is now $246. When I made the appointment about a month ago, it was $220.

it also says on the website you are supposed to do the medical 14 days in advance, but there was no way for us to do that.

Should not be problem. Certainly if appointment is in the AM. Medical goes smooth. Be there early. Not to worry but many Russians have trouble with the chest exray and have to do 6 week sputum test. But rarely does anyone fail it. We had to go through it yet all worked out well. Good luck.

The embassy will not have your medical results in time for your interview. If they approve you, you'll get a 221(g) saying they're awaiting your medical results. Once they have that and everything is ok with the results, you'll get the visa.

Don't know how it works in Russia, but in Ukraine you are getting the results of your medical and DS-3025 at the same "medical exam" day. You must be done with your exam by 12.00 p.m, and after 3.00 p.m they start giving you the results. Sometimes even earlier, so usually people don't go anywhere and just wait when they are called for picking up the envelops.

So, if it's the same way in Russia, you should be fine.

We just did this in Moscow. It's different then it used to be. Moscow used to give you the results on the same day. They no longer do this. Medical results takes a couple days to get to the embassy. We purposely put a few days between the medical appointment and the interview because we didn't want to slow things down with a 221g.

Thank you for clarification. Looks like things are different in our countries.. and I don't know now it will work for OP - having an interview the next day after medical..

Do you know how many days exactly it takes now? I really want to limit our time in Moscow to as few days as possible...so I'm wondering how many days in the hotel we should book when we get to this point.

We had the medical appointment on Tuesday and the interview on Monday. The hospital told us "allow a week to be safe". But they readily admitted that it should only take 2 days, maybe 3. So to answer your question, I don't know EXACTLY. I hope this helps.

Hello all to guys, my wife is principal dv2017 lottery winner and our interview date is schedule on 21st March at Moscow US Embassy.

We would like to get medical exam date 13th March.  In this case hereby my question, do you think is it enough to take medical exams before 8 days from interview? 

And one more question, can we call IOM and take reservation date these days? I mean almost 2 months before interview is possible?

As far as I understand, 8 days most likely is enough time before the interview.

 

No idea about calling 2 months before. Best bet is: just call them and find out.

I just wanted to update this thread: we had the medical done four days before the interview. By the time we got to the Embassy, the medical still hadn't arrived, but it ended up being totally fine. The IO said as soon as the medical results arrive, they will be able to approve the visa.

 

So, simply put: you can do the medical any time before the interview. You'll just have to wait a bit longer until the results are in, but you can still go to the interview without the results because they will be delivered to the Embassy directly anyway. So, doing your medical one day before is no problem at all.
