Hey everyone! New member here (although I have been using the site since we initially filed in August for information!) Just wanted to let you all know that because of the wealth of information on here, I have had to fix MULTIPLE mistakes on paperwork and other items my "attorney" (from a highly reputable Manhattan law firm) has been working on. I literally have been one step ahead of him the entire process!

We're in the last stretch of the process, waiting to hear back from MTL on the interview date. Does someone know if MTL quiets down in December? I am currently in the US visiting since the 7th of October, and don't really want to go back to Canada until a few weeks before the interview. I called NVC and they couldn't give me an answer, and my lawyer, well, you get the idea. Anyone perhaps that has had an interview in December? I'm hoping to get it done before Christmas.

Thanks!

M

Welcome to the site.

Once you've received Packet 4 (via e-mail), you can login to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/users/sign_in with your account and select an interview date yourself. Don't do this before Packet 4 however, otherwise they will cancel your interview. The moment I received Packet 4, I logged in and picked the soonest appointment which was just under a month away.

Agree'd.

Do you have your case number and are you sure that Montreal has LOGGED the case? They can have the case, but until they log it it doesn't matter.

Once you know they have logged the case, you are to email them back with what is needed in Packet 3. You can either find packet 3 here on the forums (it's here somewhere) or wait for it to come in the snail mail.

Once you email back packet 3, you will get an email packet 4 (there is no physical packet 4) and you schedule your interview on your own. The only contact you should have with Montreal is receiving Packet 4 from them after you sent packet 3, all of the rest is done by you/your fiance, who ever is the Canadian one. After receiving packet 4, the next time you'll talk to them is at the interview.

Edit: OP has an interview date in Timeline so I'm guessing this was all sorted out.

Hello! I'm curious to know from someone who has recently scheduled their interview at the Montreal Consulate - is this the same screen y'all saw when trying to schedule an interview?

I've read in other forum posts about a "greyed-out calendar" so I'd like to make sure!

I've been refreshing and checking this page (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/) hoping to see some dates I can choose for the past several days to no luck so far. Thank you!

Having no interviews available is common for the Montréal consulate. It happens probably 2 or 3 times a year with about now being a primary time. They are just full and book out only so far in advance. Simply keep checking and book when you can. People try to let each other know here when there are slots when this happens. Montréal will automatically extend the NOA2 when there are no available appointments but you can certainly check in with them as well.

Hi @jannandmatt - I've been checking a few times a day for the last few days and there hasn't been anything since the day before the election. Trying to get an interview mid January. As everyone says, if feels like you have to just keep checking, but I know I'll feel better once it's scheduled! If I see something come up, I'll post :)

Good luck!
