3 months of wait after an NVC expedite!

Hi everyone! We have been on this dreadful journey for quite a while now and I am totally fed up with it.

On September 19th, the NVC accepted our expedite request and sent us an email stating that they were forwarding our case ASAP to the London embassy.

More than a month after, we have not heard anything from either the NVC or the embassy. No letter, no email, nothing. When I check our case status online it shows "Ready".

Following one VJ member's advice, I follow some instructions on the London embassy website to book my medical and my interview since apparently expedited cases don't receive the appointment letter from the NVC and you have to book it yourself. Which I did today.

The earliest interview date is December 16th! 3 months after the NVC accepted our expedite request. Some people get an appointment way quicker than that without an expedite.

It is also totally impossible to contact the embassy as they won't discuss immigrant cases over the phone. There is a contact form online that you can use but they don't bother to reply. We sent messages more than 2 weeks ago and they have not replied.

I wish that we never asked for an expedite as it does not work with the London embassy apparently. All it does is adding more dealy to this horrible journey, which to be honest feels more like an odyssey than a journey!

Hi, I'm not sure about London but here in Kuwait they contacted me right away when they received my case. Sent us the appointment date which is 2 weeks later along with the list of documents that I need to bring with me during the interview.

Well I have been waiting more than a month already and I decided to be more proactive today and booked the appointment myself. But I couldnt get anything before December 16th. It will be 3 months between the day the NVC accepted our request and the interview date.

Is the London embassy one of the slowest embassies worlwide to process visa cases? I mean if it takes 3 months for an expedite I can't imagine what it is when it is not expedite.

Hi! I'm doing research to be prepared as we are waiting for our (hopefully) approval of our I-130 now. On the London embassy website I found this slideshow, and they indicate a couple of things that may apply to your case. One is that your notice from the embassy of their approval/letter about scheduling will be within 8 weeks, but if it is more than 8 weeks away to call them. The second is instructions to check back for interview cancellations making new appointments available. I'm linking the slides below
