Quick question! I'm about to book my interview but my fiancees sister is our cosponsor and we have all her tax info but in her 2013 packet, she is missing her 1040. Do they ask for the page at the interview?

Yeah they do!

On the webpage it mentions what i will need to take to the interview with me such as photograph ID, Passport, Affidavit of support amongst other things however, It does not mention anything in regards to proof of relationship or any other documents.

Can anyone give me a list of exactly what they have took to the embassy in London?

Since you're from a western country, things tend to be a bit easier. I think there is a general assumption that relationship is genuine, unless any red flags eg big age difference, or other mismatch. That's not so say such relationships aren't genuine, just that you might require a little more proof. I wasn't asked for any further documentary proof, just some general questions

1) had I visited my fiancee in the US? (yes about 6 or 7 times)

2) had I met her family (of course) and had she met my family? Did she have any brothers or sisters, what are her parents names, etc?

3) did either of us have children (no), has either of us been married before? (and she then checked to see if she had my wife's divorce cert).

I guess they can tell from the way you answer these whether they need to dig a bit deeper. It really isn't an interogation, just a friendly chat.

I'd taken along print outs of some facebook posts - us getting formally engaged in Niagara Falls, me with her and her family during Christmas, and obviously comments etc below those, plus receipt from engagement ring. I wasn't asked for any of this and they didn't look at it.

The main thing they did examine was the financial documents from my fiancee for the affidavit or support (as its the first time they see those). I had tax return, bank statements, payslip. They just picked one of those to use.

Okay

I will just get the doctor to print of my vaccine records and see what i need on there (there is bound to be something)

Hopefully this will be okay for them and i can drive all the way home to drive back again a few days later for my interview :)

Thank you for your help

Yes, make sure you have all the correct vaccinations. Bear in mind that some of them require 2-3 jabs over a few weeks, so get started early if possible.

There is no varicella (chicken pox) jab in the UK. I believe they take your word for it or give an exemption, but if you do have anything in your medical records about having chicken pox, get the doctor to give you a print off to take to the medical. I'd had shingles, which you only get if you've had chicken pox, and had a page from my medical records about that. Not sure if that helped, but I was able to do the medical and then alteration of status in the US with no additional jabs required other than the ones I'd had prior to the medical.

I see someone has asked here about the 1040 which i believe is the tax return. This has now thrown me again.... :S

I asked about this a long time ago. My partner was a student worker and didn't earn anywhere near enough when filed last tax return. I was advised i didn't need the tax return if she had a letter from her employer which is now paying her enough to meet the requirements at 125% and payslips to prove her income is enough.

She has sent me the affidavit of support along with her employers letter and pay slips as proof. Was i wrongly advised about not needing the tax return?

I was asked for a tax return and so have a quite a few others so I'd definitely get those sent over.
