Process to enter USA

Hello Everyone,

Lizbeth and I have gotten through most of the steps by now, her St. Lukes visit is completed and all that's left is her interview which is on the 26th. For this we have put together a package including her 160 form and my Affidavit of support along with proof of our conversations online, our pictures together, flight tickets that show we sat side by side and letters of intent to marry. I believe we have prepared a good package and are ready for the interview.

We still have a couple of questions about the final steps in the process.

1) She's concerned that she has to provide her vaccinations to an official upon landing in our hometown. My hometown airport is so very small I don't believe they are equipped to handle this. Does she have to give copies of this to someone and if so, I'd assume she gets it done at a port of entry like San Francisco or Minneapolis.

2) She listed my hometown airport as her destination here but we may fly to my parents hometown first so she can meet them. Is this a big deal?

3) There is a requirement for some sort of class she has to take. I'm not finding out much about this. Is it a requirement for real in order to get a visa?

In short, what are other things I should be thinking of at this point that could be an issue? Are there other things we need to do or preparations to make that I've overlooked?

Thank you,

Christian and Liz

1. NO. The POE only requires the envelope she will receive with her visa. They won't ask for any other documents. Please obtain the DS3025 (vaccine record from medical facility) and an extra original birth certificate to bring to USA.

2. NO. It doesn't matter where in USA you land.

3. Sorry didn't work through that embassy so I cannot answer that. I would look on the embassy info page.

Since it is a small airport, I doubt she is flying directly. Once she lands in the US, goes through immigration, and turns in her packet, the rest of the US travel is just like anyone else. Show proper ID and have a safe flight. No one will be asking her any more where are you headed questions, she is now legally in the US and free to go anywhere in country.

She needs to attend the CFO seminar prior to being cleared to leave the Philippines. It is held either in Manila or Cebu. She can attend before the interview in which case upon a approval she will receive a certificate and will need to return once she has her VISA, or she can wait until she has the VISA and then attend the seminar. Either way, she will receive a stamp in her passport that will allow her to leave the Philippines.

Your fiancee can register online here: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/gcp.html

Good Luck

1) At POE (first airport within U.S. ) she will give the agent the DO NOT OPEN envelope. (She keeps her DS-3025.. do NOT give that to anyone). At hometown airport all she will do is gather her luggage.. ;)

2) Doesn't matter what airport she listed.. no one cares.j

3) Your fiancee will have to attend CFO-GCP seminar before exiting the Philippines.

I will give you a few links

Embassy http://visaconnection-philippines.com/index.php/2-visa-process/3-usem-k-1-visa Make sure to have everything listed in the embassy instructions letter

CFO http://visaconnection-philippines.com/index.php/2-visa-process/5-cfo-gcp-seminar Can be completed before or after the interview. If completed before the interview she will have to return once she has her visa to get the sticker.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!
