Im so mad and worried right now

Im currently going thru the documents submitted by my "crappy" lawyer and I found a huge error.She has my husbands DOB wrong on some of the documents she sent. Our interview is in 14 days. I there anything I can do or need to do?? My husband is the USC. She had his DOB as mine on my EAD application but it seems like they noticed it coz my EAD has my correct DOB!!!

Wait for more advice first of all, because I'm not sure of my answer here...but what I would do is to just make sure you point it out at the interview. It's not as if the green card has been issued yet and is in error or anything...not that you don't want your documents to be correct, for sure! ....but since your interview is so soon, I would just make certain to point it out, with a birth certificate, DL, etc. as evidence...at the interview itself. M.

Since it's the USC's DOB that's wrong, I think it's fine to just point it out at the interview, since it won't show in your card or anything. Do point it out at some point.

Make the Clarification at the interview and place the blame on the lawyer.

It is really not a big deal, its not like you committed fraud. it is a typographical error.

I think the officer will probably see it at the interview, since they go over the information on the forms you sent and will likely ask to see birth certificates for both parties....just blame the lawyer. Good luck!

Wow..my lawyer is a crappy one...but at least he took "only" $500 and actually sent us the documents to be proofread. I am sorry it happened but as it was already mentioned I don't see it as a big problem. Just tell them that you noticed that urself just now and be ready to present the right information. Also, if you can call the consulate, do it and ask

Since the green card is for you and not the USC, it shouldn't really matter that his DOB is listed incorrectly.

It's an honest, and probably common, mistake. Just make sure all of YOUR information is accurate!

I dont know that a wrong date of birth won't cause a delay on an FBI check for instance... cuz the OP said "some documents" but then stated that it was on the EAD application... which one is it ?

The USC's DOB should not impact the FBI name check as the check is only for the non-USC.

And yes, you can point the error out during the interview.

You are right. The Wacko lawyer has my husbands DOB on my EAD application. But it seems like they caught the problem because my EAD has my correct DOB. Damn mate I hope it all goes well for us.
