Long term lurker and reader of the forums, just joined today to share the news which in part was because of all the great help discussions I read on these forums while preparing our documents. (The best advice I can give is to make your visa case so strong that it's hard to be denied). After seeing our paperwork, and the amount of time we put in to showing our true relationship everything went perfectly and the visa officer only asked my fiancé three questions at the interview,.

Since I recieved so much wonderful advice from these forums I thought I would provide the things that helped us get our visa in return.

1. Strong proof of real relationship. We dated for one year and I made three trips to the Ukraine, spending in all a total of one month with her and we documented everything - time stamped our pictures, including pictures of me with her family and screenshots of her talking to my family on Skype. I can't overstate this enough, The government really only cares about two things, that this is not a fraudulent relationship/visa scam and that you make enough money to support your fiancé.

2. We were honest about everything we included that we met on what the U.S. consider a marriage broker website but I took the advice from these forums and emailed the website in which they sent me a letter that said they did not adhere with IMBRA and I included that in the initial forms, we never got any RFE's.

3. Read each question on all of the forms in great detail and if you have any questions come to these forums or elsewhere and look for the answers before you fill in something you don't know 100% the answer to, we did this and never had to resubmit anything.

4. Submit as much evidence as you can lots of pictures, chat documents from whatever program you use, FaceTime or Skype login's, emails we flooded them with these documents probably overkill but it definitely did not hurt.

in the end I would just like to say thank you to all the wonderful people who gave very good advice we took this advice and the whole visa process after we submitted the first documents only took two months and three weeks until her interview date which was October 20th. At this point we are just waiting for her to get an email or text from the post office her visa will be sent to and then we book her flight to start our journey. Thanks again to everyone and if anyone has any questions on the steps we did I would be more than happy share.

Thank you We thought this would be a good idea as well we titled the top of those pictures like "Fiancé speaks with father" "fiancé speaks with brother" etc...

Congrats! And just so you know, it's Ukraine, not the Ukraine. You did everything well and received the end result that you deserve for all your due diligence and effort. Again, congratulations!

Yup, "the Ukraine" is a leftover from the USSR days. Nowadays the "the" has been dropped out of respect for Ukraine as a sovereign nation.
