The address is easy to find and you just to push the correct buzzer to gain entry.

Once you've enter the offices, there are two reception desks/counters where the staff will ask for the required documents and passport and before handing you a questionnaire and allergy information sheet which you will need to complete and hand back at the counter before handing you a container for a urine sample. The Urine sample is then handed back before you take a seat in the waiting room. There are plugs to allow you to charge your phone which is nice.

The next part, you are called into a room for a chest X-ray. Then back to the waiting room. Approximately 10 minutes later you then you are

then called into another room for a brief talk regarding your vaccinations and obviously do make sure you have had all of the required vaccinations before attending, or official evidence from your GP stating why certain vaccinations had not been given. (I made sure I had all the minimum requirements and a full list from my GP detailed all vaccinations to date. So long as you have started the course for shots such as the Heb B, then your fine. You don't need to have completed the full three Hep B shots before the Medical as this can add 6 months to the process) This lasts a couple of minutes before you go back to the waiting room for a further 15 - 20 minutes.

The last part is the full body medical where you are called into a third room. The Doctors asks you a couple of questions and goes over your answers to the questionnaire you completed on arrival. You are then asked to strip down to your underwear behind the curtain and lay down on the table. They then test your heart rate, breathing hearing, eye sight, blood pressure, stomach and joints for aches and pains before taking a blood test and examination of your genitals.

After this you are called to the reception desk where you will then need to make payment. The Medical now costs a flat rate of £290. The price was increased on September 1st. They hand you your original paperwork back accompanied with a receipt and medical report for your records which you will need to keep for your first visit to your new US based doctor if the application is successful.
If there are no concerns or queries, within 4 working days, your results are then sent to the National Visa Center.
And that's it.

The whole experiences was really easy and everyone was friendly and professional, even if a little frank at times.

I hope this helps future applicants.

Why are they sending the results to the NVC? They are supposed to send them to the embassy in preparation for your interview. The embassy then sends the documents to the applicant in a sealed envelope (when they return the passport) which the immigrant hands to the CBP officer on arrival into the country.

Thank you so much for this, I had no idea what to expect and was kind of worried lol

How long did the whole process take? Just because I'm taking the morning off and would like to let my manager know how long I will roughly be.

Hey JFH

Not yet no. We're completing the I-864 as we speak. ps. I cant find anything on where or how to file this form? Is it sent electronically or does a physical copy have to be posted? and if so, where to? My wife is stateside and Im in London. do we send it to the embassy/same address that we sent the original etc I-130, or does she send it herself from US to the NVC?

Thanks

Ps... good luck on the 6th December!!!

I-864 and AOS package goes to NVC with coversheet and IV package in the same envelope (the address in Portsmouth, NH). It cannot be sent electronically for UK filers (but it can for certain other countries...) so it has to be a physical copy with wet signature.

As most of the IV package documents are about the beneficiary (police record, birth certificate, divorce decree if previously married, etc) then usually the beneficiary sends it but your wife can send it if she wants. I sent mine by UPS express documents and it cost £12.50 and was picked up on a Tuesday and arrived on the Thursday.
