Hi Guys,

Wondering if someone could help shed some light on this. My fiance and I got engaged and submitted our K1 application in early September. We received a receipt notice on September 14th 2016. I logged into the USCIS to check our status and got this message:

" On October 19, 2016, we approved your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number WACXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

Is this our NOA2? We didn't receive an NOA1 so not sure what stage this relates to. I'm waiting for the letter to come through to confirm but thought I'd see if anyone else has had a similar experience. I thought the approval stage usually takes 5-6 months??

Thanks in advance guys!!!

Thanks guys.

Is that 6 months for the whole thing or just to get the NOA2?

I think the stats here on VJ are about 171 days on average from start to finish. The NOA1 to NOA2 average is about 45 days, so for yours to be approved in about 35 days, it great! I hope things keep rolling for you!

Good Luck!

I think the filing to approval usually takes around 6 months - We filed I-129F in January and I had the visa in hand in July (and that was with a 5 week delay due to info required from my own doctor for my medical)

Congratulations on getting the petition approved! and Good luck with the application stage!! :D

Yes, this is your NOA2. Next it will go to the NVC, which can take a couple-few weeks before it is then mailed to your respective consulate. I think ours took just a couple more days than a month as well to receive the NOA2! Our interview is Nov. 4 and we submitted our I129F on July 25. So just 3 1/2 months or so :) Things move pretty quickly these days! Congratulations and good luck!
