NOW, My wifes friend sent in her AOS june 14, 6 weeks after ours, yesterday her friend got a uscis status update say your card is being produced!

How can this be? what do they do eenie meenie miney moe with the pile of applications or what? why do some later ones go ahead? we got no RFE or anything?

we really want to go back to the Philippines for Christmas, but things looking not good for that,, im so disappointed in this system it makes no sense.

As you can imagine, this depends on a number of factors some of which indeed make no sense. If you're in the same local office as your friend then I'd make an infopass appointment. Otherwise, check the USCIS processing times webpage to get an idea where your local office stands. Some cities, due to workload, are quite slow while others are fast.

If you're in a major city like Dallas or Houston, you're looking at about a year before your case is completed. Other smaller cities are adjudicating cases in six months or less.

Hang tight and it'll all be over soon.

Good luck.
